REMEMBER – Reiki works safely alongside any other healing modality or medical intervention. But, it is NOT a substitute for medical help. Please, if you have serious hair loss, please consult your doctor and get blood work or other testing done to get answers. AND add Reiki to that!!
REIKI FOR EVERY DAY LIFE
When my dad was young his Aunt and Uncle raised him. He said he learned everything good from his Uncle Karl. He had so much respect for Uncle Karl and his word was my dad’s law in life.
One thing Uncle Karl taught him was to massage his scalp every morning. He told him, IF he massages his scalp rather vigorously every day, he would not go bald. He really did not want to go bald. But, what kid actually does as a young teen, way before the chance of going bald? My dad as a kid, that’s who.
Well, whether it was the massaging of the scalp or the true belief in Uncle Karl’s words, it worked. My dad did not go bald, but his younger brothers did; and at a somewhat early age. My dad was always very proud of his hair because he had dedicated and worked at it. When he died at 84 he had a full head of blond hair, a little less full then when he was young, but a full head of hair none the less.
WHAT’S UP IN THAT TRAILER?
My dad usually did this ritual early in the morning before his showers. I only know this because when we would go camping in the summer. Every single morning my dad would shake the camper for about 5 – 10 minutes while he leaned way over so he was upside down in front of him and very vigorously massaged his scalp. This action would shake our trailer- A LOT. He’d shake the trailer so much it would wake us all up so I couldn’t go back to sleep again, even on vacation. (That was probably also his secret secondary plan.) But, this was so important to him, that he keep his morning absolution every single day, he didn’t mind the wrath of two teen girls screaming at him for waking them up too early on their summer break. I wonder what our fellow campers thought was going on in our camper as they walked by us to their morning shower? Hmmmmmm, I bet they had absolutely no idea my father had discovered the free miracle cure to baldness.
My dad dedicated himself to this goal and did it every single day and it worked, for all we know. I believe intention and action almost always work. Add Reiki and Yes, it always helps.
JUST ADD REIKI
When I started losing my hair from age and hormone issues I thought about this as I was shampooing my hair. I decided to apply Reiki and (not quite so vigorously) massage my scalp while I shampoo and just let Reiki do, what Reiki does; heal!!
REIKI ALWAYS HELPS!
(We just don’t always know how it helps.)
Scientifically I can’t tell you my hair is growing back because of the Reiki although I apply this most days; there’s no money to create that study. But, my hair seems thicker and healthier to me and that’s all that matters. It helps me to know I’m doing something positive about it.
Sometimes, we just need to Reiki something every day for many years and it will help. Intention meets attention + Reiki! A powerful combination.
REMINDER OF SOME REIKI TRUTHS
*** There is no wrong way to do Reiki. Just do it!!
*** Reiki is Divinely Guided and is always for your best and highest good. IF you are meant to have a full head of hair and DO this process, it will work, most of the time. Life happens.
WHAT DOES EDGAR CAYCE HAVE TO DO WITH THIS?
Edgar Cayce would from time to time get letters from his clients (His readings were all done through snail mail at the time) who had received a healing/reading from him and it didn’t work. In most of these cases Edgar Cayce would write back and tell them to NOT GIVE UP or DO IT LONGER, MUCH LONGER!! YEARS LONGER! Most people give up before results.
Reiki is Divinely Sourced and Guided, therefore, it hears your thoughts and you can direct Reiki with your thoughts.
Ask Reiki to:
* Shoot Reiki out through your fingertips to thicken your hair growth
* Remind you -to do this every time you shampoo.
* Run Reiki every time you shampoo even if you forget to ask
* Ask Reiki to heal your scalp, hair follicles, acupressure points on your scalp
* Ask Reiki to open your crown chakra or others near the area
* And any other healing intention that comes to you
So, think about yourself and your healing practices. What would benefit from you doing it more and longer and WITH REIKI?!!!
That is a question for you to answer yourself, but please do share with us IF you feel so called to do so; especially if this helps you in any way. We love to hear from you.
Congratulations Reiki II Graduates! You are all EMPOWERING yourselves on this fabulous life journey with Reiki!
In Reiki II we learn the three Reiki Symbols which help people create a tangible connection with Reiki. Sometimes learning Reiki is hard for people in Reiki I because Reiki is totally new and an INTANGIBLE. Some people are good with intangible and some people are better with tangible things; things they can see, touch and smell. Well Reiki is tangible after practice when you really GET it, but if people don’t practice and don’t ever FEEL that connection, they might quit or find it very hard to continue and use it very little. I highly recommend taking my Reiki I class where we spend quite a bit of time learning HOW to use Reiki in our every day lives and in the cracks, as well as a hands on technique. But, I also recommend going on to level two, even if you don’t feel you quite GET IT yet because the Reiki Symbols often tie it all together for people and then they are able to understand it much more and then have more of a confidence and motivation to use it more in their lives.
It doesn’t matter WHY you take a Reiki class in the beginning, but if you don’t feel confident enough to use it in your life, you won’t get any of the benefits. Reiki is a healing miracle in so many of my student’s lives and mine, if it has not been a miracle in your life, please come to some of my workshops and start learning what Reiki really truly IS and HOW it can benefit YOU. Reiki is ultimately for YOU. If you feel better, calmer, and more confident in handling life, then you are better able to help others, be kind to others and be the person you want to be in the world.
Especially in these times, that is what we all need. We all need Reiki right now.
My longer Reiki classes are all about helping you to feel confident in using Reiki in any aspect in your life that you want to feel better and healthier about: relationships, job, family, home, romance, manifesting, healing, etc. ALL aspects. Reiki is not just a hands on healing technique, it’s a Divine Energy for healing your entire person and life.
Parden me for getting on my little “Reiki is Incredible” soap box, but it truly has been such a miracle in my life, I just want to help other people connect and understand it as much as my students and I do. Because when you understand it, you use it, when you use it, it heals you. It’s really that simple, and then also, not. We are here to help you use Reiki in your life to heal whatever you choose and whatever your soul chooses.
I can’t make you take a Reiki class, but when you are ready, I’m here to guide you through it and continue walking next to you on your path. This is my soul path. Josslyn

I know it’s sometimes hard to feel the Reiki energy when working on ourselves, especially in the beginning when we are new to Reiki and our hands and bodies are not as sensitive to the energy yet.
This will change with more practice, it will. Your hands will get more sensitive to the subtle energy and your mind will learn to be still and be able to tap into the feelings that the subtle energy creates. Don’t be so hard on yourself, machines and science cannot detect this energy, but humans can FEEL it.
However, feeling the energy is what makes it so magical, so mystical and helps us feel so connected to our Higher Power. Feeling the sensations of the energy is what most of my students tell me they want, but don’t feel, when working on themselves- at first.
I always feel the Byoseen (subtle energy feelings) much stronger when working on others, so in the beginning, I just worked on other people a whole lot, every chance I got.
**But knowing that daily Reiki on ourselves is the most important thing we can do for our own healing, how do we motivate ourselves to work ON ourselves when we can’t FEEL the Reiki running?
Quick Tip to Feeling the Reiki in the Beginning
**When doing a Reiki treatment on yourself, hold your hands an inch or two above your body. We can often feel the play of energy off the body better if we are not touching it directly. This works great for self treatment or treatment on others. Give it a try and see if you feel a difference or not. Once we can feel the energy more, we are more motivated to actually DO our daily self treatment. Some people feel the energy more on the body, try both ways and see what works for you. Pretty soon, you’ll be feeling it no matter how you DO IT.
Hope this helps. Have fun with your Reiki. Try new things and listen to your Divine Reiki Guides, they will give you ideas like this too.

Many years ago I watched a movie with Susan Sarandon. I love movies, they are often my muse. I didn’t love this movie so much, “Shall We Dance”, it was o.k. for me, but this line by Susan’s character stayed with me many years.
Beverly Clark : “We need a witness to our lives. There’s a billion people on the planet… I mean, what does any one life really mean? But in a marriage, you’re promising to care about everything. The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things… all of it, all of the time, every day. You’re saying ‘Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness’.”
Two of my most beloved witnesses to my life died in the crash July 20, 2017. My husband and my son were my soul mates, my heart, my witnesses to my life; good and hard. My husband especially maybe because he had chosen this position as witness when he married me. He had proven over and over again to be my most loyal ally in this sense of life/marriage. He didn’t always know how to be there for me, but he worked at it, he learned, he proved to me over and over again that he cared even through he didn’t always understand. He made the effort daily, year after year to learn, to understand more, to be there for me whatever the case, that’s love. I was blessed to have 22 years of his love. Many people wish for and search for the kind of love my husband and I had. Not perfect, but perfect for us.
Which maybe makes my loss more unbearable, maybe it makes it more bearable. It depends upon the moment and the feeling in that moment. It changes moment by moment which it is.
I’ve secretly struggled with this since the death of my chosen witnesses. I secretly struggle with a lot, but this was a BIG ONE.
Who? Who, in my deepest darkest hours, with all of my piled up, extreme baggage now, would want to witness me. Who would I trust enough to witness my baggage, my HUGE stacks and stacks of baggage? I was terribly mad at God, my Reiki was not running through my body, although I worked with it in other ways, I didn’t see it as my witness. Just wasn’t there yet. Yet.
My Caregiver/Assistant/Co-Healer/Very Close Dear friend, Ellen, was teaching a series of Talking to Trees Classes during the summer, one year after the crash. I could barely get out of the house regularly and my physical therapy wasn’t coming along as fast as I had liked to be hiking out into the forest to talk to trees. But, I was determined to go. I knew I needed it more than staying home and being safe for my body.
The first one at beautiful Lake Crescent was amazing and I got some very important messages from the trees. But, the second class, just down the street from my home in the forest near by, was the one that shook me to my core and opened me up to a old and new possibilities. I had only made it down to the forest near my home once and that was too much and created too much pain for my body, so I hadn’t walked there since. In fact, for the tree class, I drove there and walked into the forest, just being careful and respecting my bodies healing pace.
The class was going beautifully, Ellen is a wonderful facilitator and teacher, very naturally gifted with plants and Reiki both. We were getting to the first session in which we break up, walk around the forest and pick a tree to talk to, or they pick us is how it usually goes for me. I had to go to the bathroom and was struggling with how far of a walk it was and should I go now, or do the talking session then go. Stupid stuff that clouds your mind at important moments, body stuff that constantly reminds us we are human.
I choose to do a quick session talking to the trees and then make the hike to the bathrooms since I knew the trees I needed to talk to were on the way and I’d already be part way there. I just know which trees want to talk, and I head in that direction. I turn to the tree I feel is the one and I look at it. When I’m looking at it, it’s looking back at me. It has many eyes, all looking at me. I was taken aback for a moment, then went on with the process Ellen has taught us to connect with the trees. Still in my mind, I need to do this quick because I still have to go to the bathroom. Luckily, this tree got right to the point and didn’t mince words. As I connected to it, it said, “I see you. I am witness for you. We all are.”
Well, I hadn’t told ANYONE about my ‘witness conundrum’. No one. I started blubbering right away. There is no other word for it. This tree, in one sentence, knew the deepest darkest fears of my heart and got right to the point. I felt it too, I felt it take me through the Universe as if to say, the Universe IS the witness to your life and I am part of the Universe, as are you. DUH. Of course, we are all one, we are all connected, but this tree had to remind me of that and help me FEEL it in my core, in every molecule. It had to help me feel it so substantially that I wouldn’t forget it.
I went to the bathroom, rejoined the group and couldn’t share. It was too deep, too personal, made me too vulnerable at the moment. I wasn’t ready. I usually share quite willingly what the trees tell me, even if it’s hard, even if it’s sensitive, but that day I couldn’t. It took me quite a long time to even share the experience with Ellen, but I did. And, now I share with you. Hoping and praying that this, as always is my path, helps someone else to know/feel, that even when we are/feel alone the trees witness us. Even when we are in the pit of depression, the Universe witnesses us. And, even when we feel there is no hope, Reiki witnesses us.
This is when I conceived this process and have used it ever since with my Reiki when I need it. I need it often. I feel it working, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get off my couch to write this. It lifted me up enough to take one more step into my life. One more step onto my path. One more step into healing.
Reiki as Witness Process:
Bring in my Reiki with intention (Gassho Prayer Position)
Ask God/Reiki to WITNESS my pain, suffering, grief
Ask God/Reiki to FEEL my pain, suffering, grief
Ask God/Reiki to FILL ME UP, fill all my cracks with Reiki
Ask God/Reiki to TAKE THE PAIN AWAY: Whatever is not mine. Whatever is no longer serving me for learning. Whatever is not for my highest and best good and in the highest and best way- Take it all to Divine or to Mother Earth and leave the Reiki in it’s place.
Reiki yourself hands on or just with intention in your heart.
Do this a million more times until I feel better, feel like moving off the couch.
Because I’m getting ready to spend quality time with my son for the holidays and wrapping up my ‘work’, I’ll let my students speak for themselves about how they liked the Gassho workshop.
I will be teaching another of these workshops soon, in person as well as online. Email us if you’d like to be a part of this workshop. It’s FABULOUS if I do say so myself. I was deeply moved by the experience and had a great deal of fun as well. Thank you to my students for letting me know how the workshop effected them so honestly.
Downloading, writing, visioning and teaching new workshops is one of my new favorite things to do. We will have a lot more experiential workshops coming in 2019 because EXPERIENCING REIKI IS THE BEST WAY TO LEARN REIKI!!
“What a wonderful practice to learn. I didn’t get this practice with my Reiki I teaching and really am looking for a more spiritual practice and way of incorporating Reiki in my everyday life. Thank you Josslyn. Heart.” Molly M. from PA, December 2018
“This workshop allowed me to deepen my awareness of my connection to my Gassho practice. Josslyn divided the Gassho into individual components- this made it easier for me experience the Gassho in a much more introspective and personal way. I value and will continue to use this new practice!!!” Michele R. from PA, December 2018
“Josslyn is an amazing teacher who understands students and their needs. She is patient, knowledgeable, compassionate and has an awesome sense of humor. I would highly recommend any classes Josslyn teachers!!! Especially Reiki! Heart” M. Heins from Sequim, December 2018
“This workshop was actually quite deep. We worked on much more than a simple prayer. I especially liked the meditations at the end- on different elements of the Gassho. The insights I gained were very deep and I feel very motivated to explore further with this. Bottom line- Gassho Workshop is really about a lot more than just the Gassho!” Margaret F. from Sequim, December 2018
“I feel so much better about doing my Gassho and intention, I will NO LONGER second guess myself; wondering if I’m doing it right. This class has given me relief in performing Gassho and empowerment in my Reiki! Heart -Smily Face” B. Owens from Sequim, December 2018
“Yes, I feel this workshop will deepen my connection to divine source and enhance my personal healing and those of the people I work on.” J. H. from Sequim, WA, December 2018

“Understand your darkness and it will vanish; then you will know what light is. Understand your nightmare for what it is and it will stop; then you will wake up to reality. Understand your false beliefs and they will drop; then you will know the taste of happiness.”
Father Anthony De Mello
My star chart calls me a ‘wounded healer.’
Since I read that for the first time, it made sense to me. It resonated to me, at the time, but it won’t always.
It described the route my soul choose in order to get where I am; abuse, chronic illness, trauma, depression. Not always fun, not easy, but rarely boring and quite literally, expansive. It has facilitated me in learning the lessons I needed to learn to be the stronger, more intuitive and more interesting person I am today.
My chart also says that through healing myself, I also help others to facilitate their own healing. This is a gift for sure. Heal one, heal many. That has been the theme of this year for me.
This has been my personal process for my whole life, and, for that, I am grateful.
Sharing what I have learned with others, watching others go through the expanding of their own healing process is renewal of spirit and incredibly rewarding. And for that too, I am grateful.
Since my father passed away last September I’ve been thrown into a whirl-wind of healing opportunities.
Blogging, unfortunately, has not been a part of it. I’ve been deep in healing myself, which all healers need to be conscious of and DO consistently more than any healing for others. The beauty of Reiki is that when you heal yourself or anyone else, everyone benefits. It’s divine.
When a large change happens, like the death of a parent, we need to take time for ourselves to heal, process and expand. I’ve been doing just that and I’m getting there. Patience is a big part of this process. I’m grateful for yours, and I’m practicing mine a great deal.
I know I’ll have plenty to share when I’m ready, but I’m still not at the point where blogging feels helpful or needed. I have yet to be motivated by spirit to do it.
So, Thank You For Your Patience, as I don’t yet feel blogging and writing about my path this past year is for my highest good. Yes. I’m grateful to those of you have have noticed and spoken to me about it. That means some of you are reading and noticing. For that, again, I am grateful. Thank you for reading, thank you for your patience and hopefully when I come back to it, you’ll be ready to read because it’s been quite a year and I’d like to share what I’ve learned with those who want to hear about it.
When spirit moves me, I’ll be back talking about Reiki and other healing modalities that I am learning through this process. The wait, I believe, will be worth it.
It has been a year of miracles for me. I believed in miracles for my clients, for other people, this year I finally believed for myself. Ask and you shall receive. I asked for a healing miracle and I received a healing miracle. I’ll write about it to share with you all soon. In the meantime, I’m taking what I’ve learned and helping others as much as I possibly can.
ALL HEALING COMES FROM GOD, DIVINE, GREAT SPIRIT, UNIVERSE, whatever you call your Higher Power of Love and Light. Ask and you shall receive…
The Universe has a great sense of humor. Most every morning I pull a Tarot card from my electronic app on my phone, Goddess Tarot. Love it. It has been totally scary accurate about 90% of the time and the 10% is when I don’t put much intention into it. This is what I got today when I asked for a message for my highest and greatest good.
“Five of Cups represents the disillusionment that sometimes occurs in a relationship after the excitement of attraction wanes. This disappointment is part of the cycle of intimacy: as we get closer to another, we sometimes see more than we’d like. Sometimes it’s easier to concentrate on problems instead of assets. This card may also symbolize creative blockage or depression.”
I ‘knew’ right away it was talking about the healing process I’ve been going through this year not a personal relationship. I knew because, yes, I and others have been getting disillusioned. I hear it in your sessions, emails and texts and I can personally relate. This 9 year (2+0+1+6=9) has brought us a great deal of healing opportunities right in our face. HELLOWWW!!!
For some of you who have been on the healing path for a few months or more, you may be noticing some of these natural processes but maybe not seeing them for what they are, or getting discouraged and easily frustrated and judging it or fighting it. It’s ok, I do the same thing until I realize what’s happening.
This is INTEGRATION. True healing. When true healing occurs it changes our body; physically, emotionally and mentally, even spiritually. Healing can occur fast and furious or slow and calm-er, specially when we are healing with Reiki which heals at all levels at the same time. Our brain and nervous system healing are taking place and causing physical sensations, feelings, and a whole new way of being in our bodies that can be uncomfortable and frustrating. Change is change, good or bad, whatever it’s labeled, it’s still change and that can be hard. New. Uncomfortable. For children, they can’t always verbalize this and it is hard to deal with. For adults, we don’t understand what is happening and can also be difficult. But, this is the core healing we’ve been asking for, praying for and intending.
We must surrender to the process or we might SABOTAGE!!
This is also a natural part of the healing process when change is occurring:
Regression– backtracking in progress. Actually getting worse, before things get better.
Sabotage– doing things to not help your healing path even though you know they aren’t good for you. Eating bad food you know will upset your body, not intending each day your healing, not doing your healthy daily routines, etc.
Resistance– fighting it, getting angry, going against the healing possibilities even just in your mind by not only not holding intention but doing the opposite, close to sabotage.
Plateau – I hate this one the worse. ‘When am I going to notice a difference?” “Nothing is happening!” It seems like everything is just staying the same. UGH.
All of us will have different parts of this process that are harder or easier. Obviously moving forward and making progress is what we all want and like. But, the healing journey is not a straight shot to feeling better, it is a scenic route riddled with learning opportunities along the way.
Fun right!? LOL, not always. In fact most of the time it can be quite challenging.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP YOURSELF?
All I know is what I do:
*REIKI YOURSELF with intention DAILY
*Recognize it for what it is, understanding our process can really help
*Talk to yourself like your own best friend, talk yourself off the cliff so to speak. “This too shall pass and sooner than you might think!” That’s one of my favs.”Creator never gives us anything we can’t handle,” another good one.
*Breathe, take a walk, go to nature, ask the trees or the beach to help you
*Pray to your Higher Power or talk to Reiki- Reiki is from our Higher Power, it’s always with us. I talk to God all the time, I yell at my guides, I tell them my frustrations and then I apologize and thank them for understanding my heart.
*Know/understand that this too shall pass and another phase of the healing journey will come along and at least be different
*Do something different, totally different, shake things up, kick start your healing with something positive, do something good for you; start yoga, meditation, an new exercise ritual, come for Reiki sessions in person, start eating more greens every day, start taking those detox baths, (they have turned into my healing sanctuary) etc.
*Talk to a friend who understands the healing process
*Make an appointment with your Naturopath or Homeopath to make sure there is not something physical/medical going on. Rule that out first, then continue with the Reiki. Reiki is never in place of medical help, it’s complimentary to.
*Email me for a private session. Nothing like a private one on one Reiki Psychic Healing Session to jump start you to a new phase of the healing process. Serious progression forward, but more change too.
THE GOOD PART TO US IS- if many of us are feeling this way HEALING IS HAPPENING!! CHANGE IS OCCURRING! THAT is what we signed up for right?!! So lets do our best to embrace it and do something different. We either do it now or later, so lets do it now, lets do it thoroughly and lets do it with LOVE from our Divine. It’s a beautiful path, even when we’re struggling through it. BE GRATEFUL FOR IT, REIKI IT AND DIVINE WILL GUIDE US GRACEFULLY. Hopefully. LOL

It is my goal with this blog, to give you ideas of ways to work with your Reiki, that maybe you haven’t thought of. I pray this blog helps anyone who will go through the grieving process. Blessings to you all…
Where to begin…
My father was diagnosed with Leukemia this past June. It is now late September. The doctors said one to five years and we thought THAT was too fast. Three months later, with our heads still spinning, my dad passed a few days ago.
At this exact moment, I write as a way of getting all the words out of my head so I can stay calm, to honor him and to honor Reiki and all it does for me and my family.
Sitting here at this moment, all the work I have done with Reiki, being able to work with Reiki on my father in his last day of life has been the most important and fulfilling Reiki moment of my life.
Reiki was with us from the moment I spoke with my mom and she being a woman who would never ever ‘cry wolf’ said “If you want to say good-bye to your father, you’d better all come.”
My husband checked the flights and shouted through the house to the family, “You have twenty minutes to pack. We were off, kids, adults, dog, we were packed and leaving the house in a half an hour to catch a flight that we might not be able to make. I prayed and made phone calls during the two-hour fifteen minutes to the airport. I brought my Reiki with me to help us be calm and not drive too fast but to get us there in time, to help me be strong in the moments I need to be and to help me be able to process and let go at the moments I need to do that.
Our Reiki Guides were with us on the drive to the Airport making sure we didn’t get pulled over, caught in traffic or anything worse. I asked my Reiki guides to clear traffic on the freeway so we could get there safely. Our guides provided us with a very nice semi truck driver who went a very good consistently fast speed but not too fast, so we were able to get there in time with a divine escort in front of us. Reiki Blessings to the truck drivers out there.
When we got on the plane for our two and a half hour flight I prayed most of the way, instructing Reiki how I wanted things to go, manifesting what I felt I needed and wanted most for the situation: to be able to see my dad and him see us, to be able to say “I love you, no matter what happened with us in the past, I love you,” and for him to know we were there for my mom and would take care of her, she would not go through this alone. These were the things that mattered to me. They were HUGE undertakings at this moment. We didn’t know if we’d get there in time. Just that morning my dad was with my mom at the dog park, talking with people, socializing with the other dog parents, planning a trip to Sacramento to see an alternative healer who might have a cure… and tonight, he was……… knocking at Heaven’s door.
Divine has granted us with so many healing gifts these last few months. A huge one is that we made it. And, I truly felt we were able to make a difference at his hospital bedside. My dad was coherent when we arrived. He saw all of us. He knew we were there for him. I told him I love him. I looked in his eyes and let him know I love him. He saw my husband and his grandsons there for him, his legacy. We had closure in that arena and I am eternally grateful for that. I felt lifetimes of healing happening right there, in that moment.
But then the even bigger gift happened.
Reiki Steps Up to the Plate (my dad was a huge baseball fan, had to throw that in there)
When we arrived, my dad seemed very agitated. He had a very large tube in his nose for oxygen and he had difficulty breathing and talking with it. We could make out a few words here and there but it seemed so difficult for him to talk and get the words out we didn’t want him to strain. We didn’t feel we needed words at that moment, but he did. He seemed to want to say so much to us that he wasn’t able to say. I understood but at the same time didn’t want him to be in such pain and frustration.
His frustration at the tube, lack of ability to communicate and the end of his life too soon, it all was compounding his agitation and he was getting more and more upset. I instinctively put my hand on his heart and one on his crown and prayed for my Reiki to ease his discomfort. My family, my husband and my two boys, took my cue and all started running Reiki on my dad from where they were around the bed (my husband is a Reiki III and my teen boys are both Reiki I trained). My father instantly, I mean instantly, calmed. He closed his eyes and stopped trying so hard to communicate. We took turns doing Reiki on him two at a time for the next four hours, keeping him calm, talking to him in the energy of love and spirit through the Reiki.
Communicating Through the Reiki
By communicating that my thoughts, words and intentions were getting to my dad at a higher level of consciousness by riding on the waves of the Reiki that was flowing to him, I let him know in so many ways that I love him, no matter what has challenged us in the past (a great deal, but it doesn’t matter any more). I let him know I’d be able to communicate with him after he passed. (My deceased father in law is at our house all the time, what’s one more paternal energy hanging around, right!) I prayed for my Reiki Guides and his highest and most Loving Guides of God’s to be with my dad as well as any loved ones he would recognize from the other side and for him to go with them at the right time, including his many black labs that he has loved so much. I assured him he’d see us all again soon. I assured him that mom would be in Heaven with him too some day soon. (Heaven time is not the same as here, we will all be there in a blink of an eye). Since my father did not have a very strong spiritual connection, I felt that reassuring him we’d all be together again in love, was a very important part of him being ok with passing on. Reiki delivered the messages to him.
Of This I know in my Heart, spiritually…
The Reiki helped him to know that there is a Heaven and he will be there.
The Reiki let him know that we will all be together very soon.
The Reiki let him know we all loved him dearly and he made a difference in this life in many ways.
The Reiki let him know there is so much more mystery to life then he knew consciously in this life and that he has more adventures to come.
The Reiki let him know it was okay for us if he passed so he wouldn’t be in pain any longer.
The Reiki spoke for us, because the Reiki is of God and us and him too.
Calmed my dad physically and emotionally
Calmed me, my mom and my whole family
Gave peace to all of us that we were able to do something to help in a situation that seemed uncontrollable
Brought my whole extended family closer together in a feeling of unity that we had not had for many years
Reiki Planted Seeds
My dad’s amazing doctor was aware of energy work and we had good talks about how it helps
The nurses saw us doing Reiki and witnessed how it helped calm my dad
My sister who knows very little about Reiki has now seen it work
And, spirit is motivating me to write about this so soon after, to share my experience with those of you who need to read about it
Reiki Continues to support us by
I do Reiki on myself multiple times a day to stay grounded, strong, and centered
Reiki on myself to heal and release the bigger, deeper issues at the perfect time
Reiki on myself to help me have the best calming, healing words for whoever needs them at the time, including myself
I’m doing Reiki on my niece who has never even heard of Reiki, because she has a sinus infection
I’m doing Reiki on any other family members who want it and need it, we all need it, but I’m respectful of each person’s process which may not want Reiki at that moment
Reiki on my dad’s dog, Sparty, who misses him terribly and is clinging to my mom
On Saturday, I will do Reiki at the location of the Celebration of Life to set space for a positive remembrance of my dad’s life
The ways in which Reiki can support me and my family at this moment is a very long one.
We have a long way to go in the grieving process, it’s been four days. This week we are supporting my mom and preparing a celebration of life. Next week, who knows. One day at a time, but THANK GOD, seriously, that I have Reiki and I know I can turn to this amazing gift from Divine to support me and my family along the way.
I’m so grateful right now, so full of love and light and so confident that with God as my partner through my use of Reiki, I’ll make it through this process with deep healing and more joy in my heart.
Please feel free to share stories of your parents, grieving, Reiki or anything else that is healing to you or others who will be reading.

I was reading an author recently who I have followed for many years and have a great deal of respect for her work. She is a world-famous psychic, been on T.V., written many books on the psychic topic and has proven over and over again just how amazing she is. I have most of her books and read and reread them.
Humans make mistakes, period!
However, on this day, I had just a few minutes to kill, so I picked up one of her books I had not read, turned to just one chapter at the end of the book and started reading it. As I read, she talked about a topic I know a lot about energy healing. What she said, completely disagreed with what I have come to believe in my personal experience with healing work. This made me stop and go WHAO! What the heck? I was astounded. I was a bit in shock that our views on a subject would vier so opposite.
For a moment, it made me question my own beliefs. It made me question my own experiences. It definitely made me reflect at a deeper level.
Calm & Centered
But, then I stopped myself and sat with it. I removed the emotional component and I calmed my mind and body as I went to my inner compass, my higher self and discussed this from a higher place within me. I came to the conclusion that my own intuition and personal experience is what I have to go with, what I trust, what I feel to be true. My feelings and my inner compass have not steered me wrong, but authors who I do not know personally, and who are also human and make mistakes, cannot be my first ‘go to’ authority. My higher self knows best for me and I stick with that. Yes, I decided, it is highly possible, even probably, this author, as great as I feel she is, could simply be wrong on this particular subject.
Recycle the Trash
Then I remembered other books I had read where most of what I had read I agreed with. But, then I’d reach a chapter that just didn’t sit right, didn’t feel right, didn’t feel like it came from a place of Love and Light, so I put it in my proverbial trash can and didn’t take it in. This happens a lot with information I’ve noticed, a little lower vibrational energy, thoughts and words sneak in where much of the book was of Love and Light. After a while of practicing this, it gets easier and easier to trust your own intuition and not the authors. This can be applied to ALL books, magazines, reading materials.
The Golden Rule
“I tell my students at the beginning of all my classes and sessions to NOT take in anything I or anyone else says unless it feels right to them.If an ‘expert’ of any kind says something that doesn’t feel right, don’t take it into your personal space and your mind just because they are a ‘so called’ expert. What they are saying may simply not be right for you, it may not be right for you at this time or it simply may not be right, period.” Josslyn
It is most important, especially at this time of the new age of enlightenment, to find our own inner compass and learn to listen to it. The best way to do this is by practicing, starting NOW. Your own intuition is always your best guidance.
Guard Yourself From Too Much Input!
When we are reading a book, watching television, movies or on the computer we are taking in millions of bits of new input; emotional, visual, mental, spiritual, all levels are being inundated with new input from these forms of media and it affects us on all levels. It is energy and it affects us more than we know.
Do we really want to be taking in ALL of what we read or see? Do we completely trust the source of these books, programs, movies and commercials so well that we will just automatically take it all in? Typically we don’t take in all of it, our filters of our conscious mind is often up and working and ready to filter out what we don’t want. However, the people who make commercials and movies and Facebook posts are trained to SHOCK you, quickly get you to drop your filters and allow in their visual forms of information, without processing it. Or, even more sneaky, they appeal to our bleeding hearts with sad pictures that activate our overly emotional sense of empathy and we take it in due to being emotionally too open. This can happen all too easily because with the modern life, we are already in such a state of hypnosis much of the time, that we are highly suggestible much of the time. Being highly suggestible makes us take in more of what we see, hear and experience around us without the same and ‘normal’ filters we would have up if we were grounded.
This happens more often than we realize. Unless we have filters built-in or put up before hand, you are taking much of this information into your being and accepting much of it as your truth. Reiki can help to make sure this does not happen. Sometimes this information just gets stuck in your energy field, but sometimes it actually gets taken in as a mental truth and it is much harder of a process to get it out afterwards. Either way, this energy then has to be removed from our energy field, and that takes more healing than most of us know to do.
Sensitives Take Caution
For spiritual or sensitive people this is even more of an issue. I personally do not watch the news and have not for many years because I’m sensitive to taking in these visuals and having difficulty ridding them from my psyche after the fact. I also don’t watch scary movies or shows that I feel will be too much for me to handle. The more sensitive a person is the more important it is to keep this visual, emotional and auditory energy from getting in, in the first place. Here is HOW to do it. It is quite simple and just takes a conscious intention to do it and regular practice.
The Simple Reiki HOW to protect yourself from what you hear, see, and read:
Get your Reiki started and if you are a Reiki II or above, chant the symbols that you feel will be needed here.(I would use all three Reiki II symbols because they cover different aspects that are usually involved including the long distance symbol in case this is a past and very old issue. If you are above Reiki II, bring in UDKM the Reiki Master Symbol to help since this is a powerful spiritual issue.)
Hold the intention that you are filled and surrounded by Reiki Power, Protection and Support the whole time you are reading, on the computer or watching T.V.
If something comes up at any time that you are not sure about or questioning, then imagine yourself holding the questions out side of your boundary field; think about it, listen to your heart and your soul and decide if you believe it or not. If you can make a decision right away then do so and be done. Either take it in or send it to Mother Earth for recycling.
If you are not sure and need more information on this topic before you bring it in or dispose of it, then hold the intention that this question stays out side your boundaries until you can gather the information or personal experience you need in order to make a decision. (I sometimes hold questions out for many years before I settle on an answer. When I do get it, it’s a big ‘A Ha’ moment for me and a great feeling of accomplishment. These are what I call, “The Big Questions.”)
Practice the process as often as possible. Pretty soon it will become a very positive habit and you will be loving it. You will feel lighter and more in control of what you take in or leave out. Your energy field will not be as full of psychic smog and you’ll be able to make decisions easier, quicker and with more confidence.
This process also helps you to feel much more confident in your intuition, your decision-making and your ability to read or watch shows with a discerning mind. It just feels better too, to not be taken by surprise.
I also highly recommend, especially if you are a beautifully sensitive person, to practice this quick 5 minute visualization for your boundaries and not taking other people’s stuff in. I have written multiple blogs about this process as it has helped me a great deal. Here is a link to one of the blogs called ‘Don’t Get Dumped On.’
This ‘golden rule’ of not taking anything in that doesn’t feel right to you does not apply when you are acting out of fear. My husband brought this to my attention recently when he didn’t want to do something my guides recommended with his business. I knew it was something totally new for him and would be hard, but I also felt it was important or they (my guides) wouldn’t have told me and made a big deal about it if it wasn’t important. They don’t waste our time. He didn’t want to do the recommendation and threw my words back in my face, “But you always say, if it doesn’t feel right don’t do it.” LOL, I smiled. Thank you Divine for our mirrors and lessons, so grateful even from our closest family members. I reminded him that this doesn’t count if the reason you don’t FEEL like you want to do it is from fear or lack of self-worth or some other lower vibrating emotion. Allowing fear to stop us from moving forward on our path is only hindering us, not helping us. So, just stop and check in with your higher self. Be grounded and centered and listen to this emotion keeping you from moving forward. Is it valid or something you would be best working on with your Reiki to heal it. Be totally honest with yourself (Or a family member will be). Then move forward.
I pray this helps some of you. Please let me know if you try it and it helps you. I’m always grateful for your loving comments.

Lately I have been hearing way too many diagnosis’ of cancer, more than usual it seems. About three new ones per week from friends, family, students and clients. In my own immediate family, as well, my own father has been diagnosed with Leukemia just this past June.
It is a challenging time for many people. I Thank God every day that I have Reiki to support me and to offer to others. But, I also have had enough ‘proof’ in my life and my client’s lives that Reiki helps in so many ways, that I understand and believe in the powerful healing that can take place when working with Reiki regularly and diligently. But, even with my strong faith, really difficult times challenge me like anyone else and reading testimonials like these, from people who have been cured, really help us to keep hope alive.
Reiki Practitioners are not allowed to claim anything healing with Reiki, other than stress relief. However, I can talk about my personal experience. And, what I do know from my personal experience, working with my clients who have had cancer, is that Reiki helps in so many ways and it’s different for every person and situation. I have seen Reiki give people exactly what they need most in each situation:
For some of my clients it has helped them get a much-needed nights sleep.
For some the Reiki helps them feel calmer and more hopeful.
For others it helps them get intuitive ideas about their treatments or doctors to choose.
Some clients recover from their surgeries faster and with less prescription pain medication.
For many it has helped them have less side effects from the chemo.
And for others, it helps them to forgive and forget, heal their ‘God’ issues and transition to Heaven with more peace in their hearts.
And for some, yes, they beat it and live cancer free for a long happy life.
These are just what I have personally experienced as a Reiki practitioner working with my clients fighting cancer over the past ten years of practicing.
Reading other people’s success stories, I have found, helps me to have an uplifted spirit, enough to have hope and hope can aid us in forging forward even through the most difficult times. So, in that spirit, I share two success stories from people who were actually spontaneously cured with the help of Reiki and some Reiki practitioners who were there to accept the call.
I post these stories in honor of my father who is on my mind and in my heart every single day.
I’m here to facilitate your healing if you need some support in that, I do understand life’s daily challenges first hand and how to find joy in the healing process. If you need a Reiki practitioner to work with, locally or long distance, I’m happy to be considered to aid in your healing or spiritual path.
Blessings to you all, Josslyn, Reiki Master/Teacher
These Two Stories have been Copied from The Reiki News Magazine Winter 2014 p. 69
These stories were documented by before and after medical tests and the observations of licensed health care providers. Please note that while Reiki can cause miraculous healing, it does not always do so. However most patients receive some level of healing with the minimum benefit being relaxation and stress reduction. If you have a medical or psychological condition, it is recommended that you use Reiki in conjunction with the help of a licensed health care provider.
Reiki and Prostate Cancer
With the thought of promoting Reiki, I called an assisted living center to offer an Introduction to Reiki class with free mini-Reiki sessions. When I asked the social director if he was familiar with Reiki, he said, “Let me tell you my story,” and proceeded to tell me that he had been recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. His massage therapist, a Reiki Level II practitioner, had been told by a psychic that he (the social director) needed to receive three treatments in close succession by three Reiki healers.
Based on his story, I quickly set things in motion and our team gave him Reiki on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. No other treatment was given. Prior to his Reiki treatment, his Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test results showed a level of 4.0 and his doctor diagnosed that he had a prostate cancer. The Monday after we completed the three treatments he was again tested. On the following Wednesday he called to say the test results showed 0.3 and that he was free of cancer. He remarked that in all of his life the test results had never been that low. I am so honored to have been a part of his healing. I feel honored to be called by Reiki, a major part of my life. –Phran Gacher, Stamford, Connecticut
Reiki and Uterine Cancer
Six years ago while a Level II Reiki healer I witnessed an extraordinary healing of a woman diagnosed with cancer. My Reiki Master (Colleen Chauntler of Gladstone, Australia) was staying with me at the time. A woman was brought to my home presenting a distended lower abdomen, and we were told by her friends that she has been sick for some months. In the week prior to this visit she had a scan and had been told by doctors that she had a large tumor in her uterus that was probably cancerous. Surgery was planned for the following week. We decided to give her three sessions of Reiki healing throughout the week, hoping that would encourage rapid healing for her after her surgery. Rather than the usual hand positions, the three of us who worked on her decided to focus on only three areas — my Reiki Master held her hands on the patient’s lower abdomen, I had my hands on her head (crown) and another Level II healer (Sharon Honatana) was at her feet. We stayed like that for approximately an hour each session.
On the day she was to check in to the hospital I saw an area of large, black energy in the shape of a ball and surrounded by what appeared to be sparking energy lift from her abdomen and rise up into the air. It kept rising and then disappeared through the ceiling of the room. I asked if anyone else had seen it and each of the others confirmed the same thing, including the patient. She duly went on to check into the hospital, and when examined her they could not feel the tumor; they sent her for a scan and it had gone. She told us with great humor that the doctors were arguing and quite flustered at the result. They eventually went on to do an exploratory operation but no tumor could be found. She had therapy for the few cancer cells that they did fine and is fit and healthy now. The woman believes she was healed by Satya Sai Baba and Reiki. On the night before her last session she said she dreamed she was in her car and it was teetering on the edge of a cliff. Below her was blackness; in her rearview mirror she could see a long road, and walking along this road was Sai Baba. he came toward her car and stood looking at her. She cried out to him to help her and he reached down and pulled her car off the edge of the cliff and placed it back on the road. –Penelope (Penny) Hayward
