My Husband’s Reiki Miracle

At our Reiki events and during private sessions it seems that many people are afraid to bring up the topic of miracles but want to. They want to know how long it will take them to heal. They want some concrete time frame as to how long this ‘Reiki stuff” will take to heal them especially if they have physical illness. Many people simply want a healing miracle. I totally understand. If there was a magic pill, believe me, I’D TAKE IT FIRST!! I live and deal with five chronic ‘invisible’ illnesses every day – you can bet, I’d be first in line getting that pill.

Bubble Bursting – Warning

I hate to burst your bubble, but sometimes a dose of reality is what we need. Sometimes believing in a magic pill keeps us in denial longer than good and real information that can help us move on. Ok, here is the bubble bursting but you have to read the whole thing to truly understand. If you don’t want to do that, then bail out now and stay in blissful denial. If you’d like to know more, it’s a good story, read on.

Reiki Works In Mysterious Ways

Reiki will never go against our free will. Which means, if our soul has chosen illness as a spiritual tool for growth, then we must learn what we have come here to learn from this tool, BEFORE we can be healed. The earth plane is unique from other healing/learning planes of existence because it is the most dense. Therefore, there are lessons we can only learn while we are here; lessons such as addiction and physical illness. We can learn them in other planes of existence as well, but not to the same dense level that we can while in physical form here. Therefore, these lessons are critical to our soul’s development and we comprehend that at a soul level. But, we don’t remember it at a human level. That is the importance, but the reality is, there are no short cuts to learning these lessons. It takes years, lifetimes to learn many of these lessons we have signed up for, which means that the Reiki will help us, guide us and even heal us if that is what is for our highest good, but it will not ‘cure’ us, unless that is what our soul signed up for.

Lesson of Patience

Reiki will also not heal us any faster than our subconscious mind is ready for. If it did, our belief systems would send up a HIGH ALERT and sabotage the process we were making anyway. Reiki heals us at the exact pace our unique personality is ready to heal at, no faster and no slower. JUST RIGHT. This may not be as fast as your CONSCIOUS MIND wants to go, believe me, I totally understand this one first hand. But, this spiritual and healing work cannot be rushed. Sometimes the true beauty is in the process, the journey, the full experiences along the way. Sometimes we can’t see the true beauty until we are through it, but it’s even more impressive on that side.

Sometimes Miracles Happen

And then sometimes, miracles happen. Sometimes miracles are supposed to happen to help us along our path, to help us with our faith when we need it. I believe we also sign up for these miracles before we come here knowing we may need some extra support, some extra push in the right direction. My husband experienced such a healing miracle that helped him to believe in Reiki and me, many years ago when I was a new Reiki healer.

My Husband’s Reiki Miracle

My husband Robert is very open-minded, he has to be, to be married to me for over 18 years. But, he’s also a thinker, a cynic and a natural-born inquisitor of new things. When I started taking Reiki classes he was first in line for me to practice on him but didn’t like to ask me too often because I was busy with kids, Mommy/kid activities, household stuff and also practicing healings as much as possible in my ‘free’ time in between. He didn’t want to put more on me. I respectfully wait until he asks me to practice Reiki on him, still do. So it was a few months before he asked.

At this time in our lives, Robert would get a rib out regularly. If you’ve ever had a rib out, you know, it hurts pretty horribly and would put my strong and independent husband ‘on his knees’ so to speak. He searched high and low for a Chiropractor who could help him. We finally found one who could put him back in place and it would last 5 to 6 weeks. This was the best he’d found so far and he was thrilled. So, every 5 to 6 weeks he would journey up to the highlands about forty minutes away to have his body adjusted and then the rib would not go out. This worked well. Until it didn’t.

Enter – Student Healer Wife

After I’d taken my Reiki II class and had been practicing for a few months Robert’s ribs went out again. Unfortunately or fortunately for him, our Chiropractor was out-of-town. He was in such pain and feeling there was little hope for relief, he asked me if I would do a Reiki healing on him. I don’t know if he believed it would do anything, but when we have no other options, we often open up to new things we never would consider otherwise. Thank God for that. I didn’t even have a table back then so he laid on the end of the bed after the kids had gone to sleep and I did two hours of Reiki. Afterwards, I rolled him over and he fell asleep.

He woke up the next morning and not only were his ribs back in place, but there was no pain. Not only that, but his ribs didn’t go out again for almost EIGHT YEARS!! Eight years later, they went out again, I practiced Reiki on him again, put him to bed and now it’s been another two years. His body was helping him work on this issue again but in a lesser way.

Why Did Robert Get a Miracle?

I have contemplated this healing miracle my husband experienced and ‘discussed’ it with my guides over time. I believe Robert got a healing miracle because he needed it, because he signed up for it before he came here in order to fully believe in Reiki and me. Yes, it’s all about me, it’s my blog. LOL. I’m sure he has his own healing reasons as well, but combined with the fact that in order for me to have my business, which is run quite a bit out of our home and often interrupts family time and takes a great deal of dedication from our whole family – I believe he needed to, mind, body and soul, believe in what I do to help other people. Otherwise, he may not have been nearly as committed to my Reiki practice as he’s been, which is a great deal.

A Miracle is a Miracle

I don’t believe we always have to have a reason for a miracle, I believe we can’t possibly know how that all works. I like to believe that sometimes our Divine Source likes to surprise us and keep us on our toes with a nice surprise. And, I don’t believe we are truly meant to know how it all works. This is the faith part.

But, in some cases, like ours, I believe there was a reason and it worked wholeheartedly.

I see what I call ‘mini miracles’ in my life daily. To me, every time I feel the Reiki in my hands or receive intuitive information that connects to a client in an important way, that feels like a miracle to me – every time. It helps me have faith, hope and spiritual power by knowing each and every day that I am watched over, guided and protected by Divine Love. It keeps me going every day through the hard stuff and it gives me hope for our future on this planet that we can turn things around and save not only our planet but each other as well. These are all miracles, big or little. A miracle is a miracle no matter what you call it. If you just believe. If it gives you faith.

My family at about the time when I learned Reiki for the first time. My family has supported me in so many ways for me to be able to practice Reiki at home, at odd hours and on many weekends when we could have otherwise been together. They fully believe in me and what I do. So grateful for them.

I pray our little story helps you to understand a bit more about how Reiki heals, that miracles really do happen in our lives in big and little ways and we just need to be aware, be in the flow and be grateful. And, that patience is sometimes one of the biggest lessons we can learn, I know it is for me – because I still don’t have that magic pill.

Reiki at the End of Life – Honoring My Dad

It is my goal with this blog, to give you ideas of ways to work with your Reiki, that maybe you haven’t thought of. I pray this blog helps anyone who will go through the grieving process. Blessings to you all…

Where to begin…

My father was diagnosed with Leukemia this past June. It is now late September. The doctors said one to five years and we thought THAT was too fast. Three months later, with our heads still spinning, my dad passed a few days ago.

At this exact moment, I write as a way of getting all the words out of my head so I can stay calm, to honor him and to honor Reiki and all it does for me and my family.

Sitting here at this moment, all the work I have done with Reiki, being able to work with Reiki on my father in his last day of life has been the most important and fulfilling Reiki moment of my life.

The Call

Reiki was with us from the moment I spoke with my mom and she being a woman who would never ever ‘cry wolf’ said “If you want to say good-bye to your father, you’d better all come.”

My husband checked the flights and shouted through the house to the family, “You have twenty minutes to pack. We were off, kids, adults, dog, we were packed and leaving the house in a half an hour to catch a flight that we might not be able to make. I prayed and made phone calls during the two-hour fifteen minutes to the airport. I brought my Reiki with me to help us be calm and not drive too fast but to get us there in time, to help me be strong in the moments I need to be and to help me be able to process and let go at the moments I need to do that.

Our Reiki Guides were with us on the drive to the Airport making sure we didn’t get pulled over, caught in traffic or anything worse. I asked my Reiki guides to clear traffic on the freeway so we could get there safely. Our guides provided us with a very nice semi truck driver who went a very good consistently fast speed but not too fast, so we were able to get there in time with a divine escort in front of us. Reiki Blessings to the truck drivers out there.

When we got on the plane for our two and a half hour flight I prayed most of the way, instructing Reiki how I wanted things to go, manifesting what I felt I needed and wanted most for the situation: to be able to see my dad and him see us, to be able to say “I love you, no matter what happened with us in the past, I love you,” and for him to know we were there for my mom and would take care of her, she would not go through this alone. These were the things that mattered to me. They were HUGE undertakings at this moment. We didn’t know if we’d get there in time. Just that morning my dad was with my mom at the dog park, talking with people, socializing with the other dog parents, planning a trip to Sacramento to see an alternative healer who might have a cure… and tonight, he was……… knocking at Heaven’s door.

Divine has granted us with so many healing gifts these last few months. A huge one is that we made it. And, I truly felt we were able to make a difference at his hospital bedside. My dad was coherent when we arrived. He saw all of us. He knew we were there for him. I told him I love him. I looked in his eyes and let him know I love him. He saw my husband and his grandsons there for him, his legacy. We had closure in that arena and I am eternally grateful for that. I felt lifetimes of healing happening right there, in that moment.

But then the even bigger gift happened.

Reiki Steps Up to the Plate (my dad was a huge baseball fan, had to throw that in there)

When we arrived, my dad seemed very agitated. He had a very large tube in his nose for oxygen and he had difficulty breathing and talking with it. We could make out a few words here and there but it seemed so difficult for him to talk and get the words out we didn’t want him to strain. We didn’t feel we needed words at that moment, but he did. He seemed to want to say so much to us that he wasn’t able to say. I understood but at the same time didn’t want him to be in such pain and frustration.

Four hours of Reiki can be a lot. Make sure you are grounded, connected to Divine and of the mindset that the Reiki is channeling through you, not using your personal energy. This way, you will not tire the body. In this picture they are holding up their hands towards my dad, you can also just place your hands face up on your lap and intend that the energy is getting to the person who has requested it. This will be less tiring for your physical body for long sessions like this.

His frustration at the tube, lack of ability to communicate and the end of his life too soon, it all was compounding his agitation and he was getting more and more upset. I instinctively put my hand on his heart and one on his crown and prayed for my Reiki to ease his discomfort. My family, my husband and my two boys, took my cue and all started running Reiki on my dad from where they were around the bed (my husband is a Reiki III and my teen boys are both Reiki I trained). My father instantly, I mean instantly, calmed. He closed his eyes and stopped trying so hard to communicate. We took turns doing Reiki on him two at a time for the next four hours, keeping him calm, talking to him in the energy of love and spirit through the Reiki.

Communicating Through the Reiki

By communicating that my thoughts, words and intentions were getting to my dad at a higher level of consciousness by riding on the waves of the Reiki that was flowing to him, I let him know in so many ways that I love him, no matter what has challenged us in the past (a great deal, but it doesn’t matter any more). I let him know I’d be able to communicate with him after he passed. (My deceased father in law is at our house all the time, what’s one more paternal energy hanging around, right!) I prayed for my Reiki Guides and his highest and most Loving Guides of God’s to be with my dad as well as any loved ones he would recognize from the other side and for him to go with them at the right time, including his many black labs that he has loved so much. I assured him he’d see us all again soon. I assured him that mom would be in Heaven with him too some day soon. (Heaven time is not the same as here, we will all be there in a blink of an eye). Since my father did not have a very strong spiritual connection, I felt that reassuring him we’d all be together again in love, was a very important part of him being ok with passing on. Reiki delivered the messages to him.

Of This I know in my Heart, spiritually…

The Reiki helped him to know that there is a Heaven and he will be there.
The Reiki let him know that we will all be together very soon.
The Reiki let him know we all loved him dearly and he made a difference in this life in many ways.
The Reiki let him know there is so much more mystery to life then he knew consciously in this life and that he has more adventures to come.
The Reiki let him know it was okay for us if he passed so he wouldn’t be in pain any longer.
The Reiki spoke for us, because the Reiki is of God and us and him too.

Reiki Also…

Calmed my dad physically and emotionally
Calmed me, my mom and my whole family
Gave peace to all of us that we were able to do something to help in a situation that seemed uncontrollable
Brought my whole extended family closer together in a feeling of unity that we had not had for many years

Reiki Planted Seeds

My dad’s amazing doctor was aware of energy work and we had good talks about how it helps
The nurses saw us doing Reiki and witnessed how it helped calm my dad
My sister who knows very little about Reiki has now seen it work
And, spirit is motivating me to write about this so soon after, to share my experience with those of you who need to read about it

Reiki Continues to support us by

I do Reiki on myself multiple times a day to stay grounded, strong, and centered
Reiki on myself to heal and release the bigger, deeper issues at the perfect time
Reiki on myself to help me have the best calming, healing words for whoever needs them at the time, including myself
I’m doing Reiki on my niece who has never even heard of Reiki, because she has a sinus infection
I’m doing Reiki on any other family members who want it and need it, we all need it, but I’m respectful of each person’s process which may not want Reiki at that moment
Reiki on my dad’s dog, Sparty, who misses him terribly and is clinging to my mom
On Saturday, I will do Reiki at the location of the Celebration of Life to set space for a positive remembrance of my dad’s life

The ways in which Reiki can support me and my family at this moment is a very long one.

We have a long way to go in the grieving process, it’s been four days. This week we are supporting my mom and preparing a celebration of life. Next week, who knows. One day at a time, but THANK GOD, seriously, that I have Reiki and I know I can turn to this amazing gift from Divine to support me and my family along the way.

I’m so grateful right now, so full of love and light and so confident that with God as my partner through my use of Reiki, I’ll make it through this process with deep healing and more joy in my heart.

The Value of the Small Every Day Lessons-Theresa Caputo, Book Excerpt

As a healer, we can sometimes get caught up in the BIG and so-called IMPORTANT life lessons, I know I do. Luckily Spirit also reminds me often as to the importance of the smaller, every day lessons. I was reminded recently of the lessons of gratitude and forgiveness but also of daily joy, sacrafice and kindness. Every single day we have a choice to be kind or to act impatiently with people. Every single day we have the choice to bring joy into our daily routine or to look at it with contempt at the monotony of it. These are smaller lessons that are also very important because they make up the whole of our day and affect our mood and attitude, but they can also have powerful ripple effects across many people’s lives that we may not be consciously aware of.

I am currently reading two books by Theresa Caputo, The Long Island Medium, “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” and “There’s More To LIfe Than This”. I won these books in an auction basket at my son’s school and couldn’t believe I didn’t have them. I love her show and I love reading books by mediums. I have at least ten different books by mediums: Brian Hurst, James Van Praagh, Allison Dubois, John Edward, and more and I’ve loved them all. I read and reread them for the inspirational messages about our loved ones communicating with us, even though, I too, do this work for my clients. I still love reading the stories. They always life my spirit and that is a good thing. I recommend them if you are grieving, they helped me through some difficult periods of grief.

So, here is a small segment from Theresa’s book, “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” on little lessons, it spoke to me. There are lots of good parts of this book, but this one said ‘SHARE ME,’ so I’m sharing. Some times the ‘little lessons’ are in the forefront of your life and they can have just as much impact as the big lessons.

Book Excerpt: You Can’t Make This Stuff Up

Are You My Lesson?

Though some lessons might smack you in the face, be on the lookout for less obvious ones. I think most people assume that all lessons happen during major moments, like a heartbreaking death or beautiful soul mate reunion, because you feel their impact long after they happen. Certainly, losing a parent or gaining a best friend changes your life in an instant. But spirit also tells me that we learn lessons in small, everyday interactions too. If you feel the urge to buy a stranger a cookie, say, or hold the door for a father lugging groceries, a diaper bag, and a car seat, everyone’s day and souls benefit from that kindness.

On a more frustrating and stupid note, you know that jerk who took your seat on the bus? He could be a lesson in patience. How about your money-mooching brother? Generosity. Or your husband’s friends who got pizza sauce on your couch during Sunday Night Football? Probably sacrifice. so the next time you’re at Thanksgiving dinner, and your sister-in-law leaves you out of family photos, don’t try to control, over analyze, fight against it, or go cryin’ in the bathroom, “Why is this happening to me, of all people?”

Look for the lesson instead.

Let the situation unfold, and find the reason.

It helps you deal, and here’s why: When the reason, and not the problem, becomes your focus, you don’t think about how sad, pissed-off, or doomed you are. You can accept the outcome, then concentrate on how to move past it. Your life is your responsibility– your soul chose it long ago. If you want a positive and fulfilling journey, don’t let people hold you back. And don’t forget, Spirit is ready to intervene when you ask.

When I accepted my gift, God told me in so many words that He wants our lives to be as rewarding and connected to each other as possible–but listen, this can’t happen if you don’t participate in your own happiness. Even when there’s a tragedy, you can’t let life happen to you when it’s time to pick up the pieces. God gave you a beautiful, complex world in which to become a better, stronger, and happier you.

And while painful situations can feel forced upon you, how you cope and work through them is a choice and, yep, usually a lesson.

So you know that saying “Everything happens for a reason”? Spirit’s proven to me that it’s not just for motivational posters and crocheted pillows! It’s actually part of your soul’s lessons and path. during readings, your loved ones’ souls have told me that there’s an order to why things occur the way they do, like when one person survives a car accident but another passenger dies, or when a child sees her deceased sister’s spirit but other people can’t. The literal answer to why these freaky examples happen is related to destiny and intuition. But if I dig deeper with Spirit, it might turn out that an accident victim’s death inspired his family to work toward enacting tougher drunk driving laws, and the girl who saw Spirit comforted her grieving family with her stories. Talk about how worthwhile reasons, not to mention great examples of how our souls learn and teach lessons to others!”

“You rarely know the big or small lessons you’re learning when you’re in the middle of them; you usually see them after the fact. I say better late than never. Some people spend their entire lives miserable and never realize those feelings were necessary in order for them to grow. I know it was easy for me to lose sight of God’s purpose when I suffered from anxiety. Even after I realized that in a roundabout way, my scary condition could bring others peace–how’s that for irony? — it took me five stubborn years to embrace my gift. But once I accepted that it was part of a bigger plan, I let myself learn all I could. This made me feel empowered, which helped me see that my past wasn’t a waste.

Instead of remembering this period as the twenty-five years that nearly ruined my life, I saw it as God’s long-term investment in redirecting my path.

I used to get upset wondering how much better off I’d be if anxiety didn’t ‘hold me back,’ but my take on that period of time has changed. Listen, I might not have met Larry at work or had kids young if I’d had a career in Manhattan, or been surrounded by friends and family when I accepted my gift, if I’d felt safe and secure moving away from them. Things worked out as they were supposed to as soon as I looked for healing and guidance, found it, and then ran with it. I welcomed my path and stayed open to my lessons, and I’ve been blessed ever since. In a lot of ways, anxiety’s been one hell of a teacher.

Life reminds me of one of those fancy knitting projects on Pinterest–your learned lessons and life events create intricate patterns, and the recurring stitch is your purpose. Whether you volunteer, make people laugh, or start political movements, you’re meant to make a difference in some way. I realize that it’s easy for me to say that Spirit wants us to live with intent, since they’re in my ear all day, talking about how much there is to know. But hey, I’m not letting their words go unnoticed. You’ve got me, and I’ve got a big mouth! These lips have a purpose!

A lot like your lessons, your purpose doesn’t have to be prestigious or put you in the spotlight. Who cares if you never become a celebrated novelist, brain surgeon, or the next Kardashian? Your purpose could mean a lot on a smaller scale. It might be about prioritizing family, improving your community, or caring for animals. There are a lot of cats out there that need foster homes!”

When you learn lessons, you don’t suddenly get richer, become mayor, or turn into a Positive Polly. You gain something much harder to earn and more valuable — wisdom. Learning lessons isn’t about being perfect, it’s about recognizing that your time here unfolds the way it’s meant to, as you make choices that fulfill you.

Reiki Every Day – Sending Reiki to Animals in Need

One of my goals with my blogging and teaching is to encourage people to work with their Reiki gift in their every day life. Reiki is for EVERYONE, not just for being a professional healer. Reiki to me is for making our lives and those around us AND the whole world, a more beautiful and spiritual place to live. In fact, I truly see Reiki as the healing power that anyone can do.

Reiki Every Day

I’m starting a new series for this purpose called, Reiki Every Day. My intention is that they will be short little ideas of ways to work with your Reiki in small but powerful ways for you on a daily basis. Similar to Quick Tips but more as ideas and encouraging you to figure out the HOW to fit your life.

Sending Reiki to Animals in Need

LOTS of animals need homes, we can't help all of them, or can we?!! Reiki can! — LOTS of animals need homes, we can’t help all of them, or can we?!! Reiki can!

I opened up my newspaper today to cut out the wonderful garage selling page with map and description of each sale going on this coming weekend. Right next to the ads are pictures of kitties from the local rescue organization, brilliant of them, I always read them even though I am not in the market for more cats. I see the photos and find myself wanting to adopt ALL OF THEM and I have done that before, before I had a husband who puts his foot down as to how many animals I have. Darn his level head and my bleeding heart. When we have big hearts, it’s sometimes difficult to see so many animals in need. How can we help so many? Easy, with Reiki.

Send Reiki in a Way that Works for You

There are many ways to do this, sit with it for a minute, your desire to help will communicate to your Reiki guides to give you an idea that will work for you and your life. Then you can adapt it to you and certain special situations in that moment. This may even mean getting more involved in the animal rescue group yourself, or it could mean pulling over to help a dog in the street and calling it’s owner or it may just mean sending Reiki to them and moving on. Since I have a full plate as it is in the pet ownership department, when I come across ads or Facebook pictures that are about animals in need, I opt for the ‘send Reiki’ option.

Please help me find a new mommy. Some of these pictures really tug at our heart strings. Sending Reiki is sending a whole team of guides of Love and Light to spring into action to help this kitten find a home. Reiki heals in many ways. — Please help me find a new mommy. I put a Mental/Emotional Reiki symbol and then a Power Symbol over each picture, say the name of each symbol three times and intend for the Highest Good of All involved for them to find the perfect home. That’s all it takes. THAT is powerful intention and healing. I do this in the paper, on Facebook, dog running through the street, on T.V. and any other time I see an animal in need. It’s quick and simple and powerful healing. If you do not have Reiki symbols simply run Reiki over the picture with your positive intentions for the highest good of all for these animals. It is much like saying a prayer but with Reiki.

FAITH

Then have faith that the Reiki will work miracles and help to find these pets the perfect home for them. This helps our heart feel better, it got us to stop from our busy day to think about someone else and gave us a chance to connect with our Reiki guides and our Reiki energy. ALL GOOD! A win/win!

My Proof of God

Just telling a bit of my story on how I FELT DIVINE’s presence for the first time and HOW you too can have your own personal EXPERIENCE with your own personal Divine Creator if you so chose. If that sounds interesting to you, please read on…

Life On Earth is Tough

When life gets tough for me the only way I get though it is my faith. I was not raised with faith or religion of any kind. I had to search for it, study, read, experiment and find what felt right for me. What made sense in my heart. I’m extremely grateful for this path. I feel like I had the blessing of a clean slate to start with and I was able to pick and choose what felt right with few other prejudices interfering. But, it also meant that I lived much of my life so far, without a strong faith in a higher power. There was a part of me that always seemed to know and believe there was something bigger than me that I called ‘God’, like people around me, like I saw on T.V., but I didn’t KNOW until later in my life.

No PROOF of God, until there was.

Let’s face it, science does not claim any proof of a Higher Power. They say there is not proof what so ever, even when there is tons of it all around us. Faith is supposedly trusting and believing in a Higher Power without proof. But, what I hear from my clients and students is that they want to FEEL the presence of God with them, not just in the things they see around them, like flowers, trees and babies. People want to FEEL GOD themselves! And, simply, I do too.

The memory of one time EXPERIENCING God for myself was all I needed to sustain me though the really difficult times. I believed in a Divine presence before I felt his/her energy, but after, I’ve been more committed to my spiritual journey and more active in my healing path because I truly didn’t feel alone any more.

But, that isn’t enough for our Divine Creator. He/She lets me know (s)he’s there quite often when I need to feel that I’m not alone. I hear stories of this over and over from other people of faith. I know I am not the only one who feels our Divine Source’s presence but I also know from my students and clients, there are still many who have not. I guess I’m writing this for those people. To let them know, don’t give up. Keep looking, keep searching, keep asking and one day, when you least expect it, when you need it most, you will FEEL the presence of your Divine Creator and you will know too. This will be when YOUR soul chooses and not before.

I have come to realize through my students how important FEELING this Divine presence is to people. I pray this helps some people to feel their proof.

My Proof of God Before Reiki

My first and most profound spiritual experience was, no surprise, when I was at the lowest point of depression. I had been there before but not with my new faith and spiritual beliefs. In the past I had very much depended upon my pets to give me the love and support that I needed when the depression got to be too much for me to handle alone. I truly believe that our pets have chosen to be here to love us unconditionally and show us that proof of God, that unconditional love, when we don’t have that belief system ourselves. They were always there for me at those times and I’m so grateful for them. But, I digress.

My Proof of God, After Reiki

At one point the depression got so bad and I felt so helpless that I was feeling totally alone. I felt no one could understand what I was going through.

I imagine it looking something like this when it happens to me.

I couldn’t calm myself enough to meditate to calm my mind so finally I activated my Reiki in my hands, ran Reiki on parts of my body and prayed and prayed and prayed. I asked Divine to let me feel him/her around me. I said I needed to know I was not alone in this. Immediately I felt a very loving female presence surround me in a huge hug of Love and Light that felt so radiant, so perfect and so immense that there was no doubt in my heart that this was the proof of unconditional love that I had asked for. The feeling was so incredibly tangible and unlike anything, anything I had ever felt before. This was bigger than me, to be able to feel this physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually all at the same time, I was blown away. I knew I was truly not alone in this and that they (God/Goddess and my Spirit Guides) felt so much love for me that I would be able to get through even the most difficult times on Earth with them on my side. They truly wanted me to know they were with me always and I just knew they were by my side even when I didn’t feel them in this way. I felt one with their energy always after that.

Faith

After this hug from my Divine I was more easily able to be in a place of gratitude. The energy completely shifted from pain to gratitude and I was able to be calm enough to meditate and be in a better place. The next day I was up and about being with my family again with a whole new view on life.

Ask And You Shall Receive

I have called on this feeling many times since, when I needed it and often times Divine and my guides are right there ready for me to FEEL unconditional love again. But, quite often, just the memory of this event has been enough to remind me in the dark times that I’m not alone and that with Divine and my Reiki Guides, I’ll get through even the most difficult trials. The memory gave me a faith that has not been shaken. I’m incredibly grateful for that gift from God, my Proof of God.

The How

I have had many more ‘Proof of God’ experiences since then, thanks to my constant work with Reiki. Since I work with Reiki every day I am in a constant flow of Divine energy and have many experiences where I feel the presence of God. I want so much for others who chose to, to be able to FEEL God too!! Another reason I’m so passionate about teaching Reiki to others, to bring them closer to their own Higher Power and their ability to FEEL this powerful loving energy.

REIKI IS THE HOW

Of all the different methods I tried over the years to be close to a divine presence, Reiki has taken me the farthest. It has supported me, guided me and protected me through my spiritual awakening. Reiki has raised my vibration daily, bringing me to the ability to feel, see and hear divine energies. Reiki has brought me many guides of Love and Light to assist me in my daily spiritual search for my path, my way in this life. Reiki is my centering and grounding source each and every day of life in this class room here on earth. Every single time I practice Reiki on myself or on someone else, I have my proof of God. I feel a little closer to Heaven each time. THAT IS WHY I DO REIKI!! I LOVE IT!!

I pray for you to have your own experience of our Divine Source so that you too may find your PERSONAL Proof of God.

Heat in Your Hands

Years ago, before we had kids, my husband and I for fun, yes for fun, would drive over an hour to the valley in Southern California to go see a British medium named Brian Hurst. (I have his books in my lending library, one of them is “Heaven Can Help.” Come check it out, it’s great.) He worked out of his home. One Saturday night a month he opened up his home to about 40 people for a group reading evening. (I believe he still does this, check out his website for HOW to get in on it.)

Seances

Some people call them seances but I’ve never felt comfortable with that term. Having a reading has never been for me like they show in the movies with all the costume and drama. I don’t much care for that image of mystics from the movies personally other than at Halloween and on board walks while on vacation at some hoaky touristy place. At Brain’s we all sat in fold up chairs in rows with him at the front, in his living room/dining room combo, just talking to whoever came though for the loved ones in the room. The more vocal spirits usually came though first. It was quite normal to us.

To get a seat to this event you had to call far in advance and only on the first day of each month at a certain hour for only one hour. I believe he still does it this way so people are not calling him all month-long. You must follow this procedure for a reservation because he fills up quickly and he sticks to it. For a small amount of money (I don’t remember how much it was, but I’m thinking around $20 a person) you could go to a medium reading session and maybe get a personal reading or maybe not. But, personal sessions are expensive and if you didn’t have the money or want to spend that, this was a great deal. And better yet, a great experience. I can say, it was always interesting and healing for me.

An Uplifting Event

We often took friends or other family members, some were believers some were not sure. Most were won over by the time we left. Since Robert and I had already had private readings prior, we mostly went to hear the other readings. I went to hear the stories of love and life. You might think that going to talk to people who have died would be depressing. To me it was always the exact opposite. To me I left feeling better about the world, less weighed down, with less fear of dying myself and usually feeling quite uplifted and lighter. Most of the readings were about love. These loved ones who had passed on to what I call Heaven were coming to this man to send their message of love and survival beyond the earthly plane. To me, how could that be anything but uplifting?

The Reading that Changed My Life

But, one night, I heard a reading that changed my life in ways I had no idea until today when Divine told me it was time to write about it. The reading that left an imprint on my human self and gave me direction without even knowing it.

One Saturday night we were there listening to the readings. Brian came to read a man, I’ll call him Ted. He was to Brian’s left in the front row of the dining room area and we were to Brian’s right in the back in the living room area. We could see Ted from the front where usually we saw many people’s backs as they spoke. Ted was an attractive black man in his early thirties, and when he stood up I noticed he was very tall with very large hands. He could have seemed intimidating to some, being that he was so tall but he had a very humble and gentle appearance to me right off the bat. He was shy at first, as many are when they believe they will have a loved one come though to them.

The deceased loved one who came though turned out to be not a relative or a significant other, but a client of this man. He was an elderly man who had died from cancer and Ted had been his massage therapist. But, he was more than a massage therapist as Brian went on with the reading. The deceased client was thanking Ted for his compassion, his healing and his friendship. They had worked together for the whole time frame that this man had been fighting the cancer and went to Ted for stress relief and relaxation. The two men had become friends and obviously good friends to the end if this man came to Brian to talk to him. His gratitude for this man and his friendship was overwhelming. Many in the audience were tearing up including me. It was a reading to remember for sure even without what happened next. For me, it was the reading that changed my life.

Healing Heat in Your Hands

Brian relayed the elderly man’s message with tenderness as he always did. He said to Ted that when he would do massage on his client his hands would heat up and healing energy from God would come though his hands. The client in Heaven was telling Ted this. I was astounded. I was amazed that this man had healing in his hands and didn’t even know what it was. Ted said he had felt it now and then too but didn’t know what it meant. The elderly man who had passed, went on and on about how the healing in this mans hands had helped him though many difficult nights when he couldn’t sleep due to pain from the cancer and that after his massage sessions with Ted he could sleep again and the pain would be gone. I remember thinking “Wow, how amazing that would be to have heat in your hands and be able to heal.” I felt like the man had magic in his hands, and he did. He now knew too and I often wonder what he has done with that knowledge.

Life Goes On

Not long after those sessions at Brian’s, my husband and I had children. I was in a whole other chapter in my life and being a healer was not on my mind at all. I forgot about Ted and his story but I did pray often to Divine Source to give me a gift to help others and heal myself. But I had no idea in what form that gift would come, or if it ever would. I prayed for this for years while I raised my kids and worked on healing my depression that was still hanging around.

The Divine Reminder

It wasn’t until a few weeks ago that Divine reminded me of this story and how I had felt at the time. I had felt like Ted had magic in his hands, Divine Magic. I had thought that would be the best gift in the world and now, here I was, with that exact gift.

Heat in My Hands

Yes, my hands heat up, they also get cold when they need to, they also tingle, vibrate and feel energy as others feel a cat’s fur, naturally and often without thinking about it. But, no matter how long I have this ability, this gift from God, I never forget how lucky I am to have had my prayers answered. I never forget that I have heat in my hands and can help other people and that I have Divine Source to thank for that, along with the determination that he/she granted me with. And, I don’t forget to thank God for this gift each and every day, each and every time I use it and more times in between. It’s more than just thanking or being grateful that I feel. I feel the gratitude deep down to my soul so severely sometimes that I weep because I can’t believe God has given me this gift. It is the best feeling in the world and it helps me feel close to our Creator in ways I never have been before I had this gift of Reiki. To me this is my passion and without knowing what I was praying for, I got the very best gift I could have ever asked for.

Super Flying Healing Mom

Super Mom can fly, heal and teach! Cook? Who said anything about cooking?!

When my kids ask me what kind of super powers I would want if I were a super hero, after flying being my first choice (come on, who doesn’t want to be able to fly like a bird) I say “Of course, I’d want to be able to heal people.” My kids say “Mom, you already do that. Pick something else that you can’t do yet.” Because truly, in all the world, I can’t think of anything else I’d rather do than help people heal themselves though Divine’s love. Can you?

Anyone can learn Reiki. Anyone can be a healer. Anyone can learn Reiki and have heat in their hands. Through our Divine Source and with Reiki, I can teach you. After all, being able to TEACH people to heal is my next choice of super powers and I can do that too. At this point in my life I feel I couldn’t be more blessed than I already am. 2012 in review- The Countries and Blogs that Were Tops!!

I’m having fun reading over the review of 2012 stats that the WordPress people put out for me. My top two favorites are the countries where my views came from and the top five blogs. The internet still astounds me. If it weren’t for me watching “The IT Crowd” (which is hilarious by the way) I might think the internet is a real little black box sitting in Apples’ offices somewhere on some big wigs desk. Luckily, I’m learning quickly about technology and marketing on the web and here I am today writing my own blogs, but still amazed that people from all over the world are finding my blog and maybe even reading a word or two. Wow! Sorry, but that sill blows me away and next year when I write the review it will still probably blow me away.

2012 in review – The Stories About the People that Made the Year Great

Whoo Hooo!! What an amazing year this has been. One year ago I listened to Divine Source and started a blog/website for my Reiki practice. It has been a year of learning a lot about building my own site and keeping it up, internet blogging and meeting other bloggers. I’ve also learned about marketing and socializing on the web, as I joined Facebook and started a Page for Reiki there as well. And it’s been a year of facing my many fears to write about what I love to the web public at large but is still not so popular with the world at large. What a year it’s been!!

Following My Intuition

In case you do not know, I write what comes to me intuitively. I write about what I feel Divine has put into my head. I always have a thousand different blog ideas rolling through my head and if I don’t put them down on ‘paper’ they don’t go away. So, I type them into drafts on my blog and save them. Then I add to them until I feel they are complete. Then I send them out to cyberspace and pray the people who need to read them, will find them. And, they do.

People’s Stories

The WordPress people have been kind enough to supply me/us with statistics below about how many blogs I wrote my first year (57), how many views I had in the first year (7,400), how many countries I’ve reached (99) and how many views I have on my busiest day (86). But, what I remember the most when I think about what has happened to me and my Reiki life since starting this blog in January 2012 is the people. And, I’m not just saying this. The people are always what matter to me and my life. Here are a few of the stories that stand out to me. Please feel free to comment at the bottom if I have forgotten your story or you simply haven’t told me that my blog and writings in some way connected to your life. I’d love to hear that.

People Who Found Me- The Stories

I wrote a little blog about the tree frogs in my back yard because their song was so beautiful one evening. A woman in Sequim who had just moved here from Colorado was sitting reading in her window seat of her new home one day.

A little tree frog came to visit her there each day. She decided to look up what the tree frog meant for her spiritual life and found my site. We met for tea, have much in common including children the same age and have become fast friends in a very short amount of time. We had dinner with their family last night. I’m eternally grateful for this new connection that came though this blog.
I wrote a blog about one of my favorite healing stones, Kyanite.

A woman in up state New York State had just purchased some kyanite from her local store. She went home to look it up and found my blog. She called me for a reading and wanted to know about mentorship. She is very psychic herself but does not have anyone near by that she knows of to receive help from and has not had positive vibes from the spiritual people she has found in her area. I’m so glad she found me. I truly enjoy mentoring other Light-Workers.
A woman in the UK found my site and read about my struggle with depression. She too has dealt with this and could relate. She emailed me and we chatted on the phone a couple of times. I did a long distance healing on her and now she and her mom have now decided to take a Reiki class from me, from the U.K. They will be my first International students, taught over Skype. AWESOME!!
Another woman was told she’s a Light-Worker. She didn’t know exactly what that meant so she went on the internet to do research. She found my blog and called me right away since we both live in Sequim. We made an appointment for a Reiki session. She signed up right away for a class and came to a circle. She certainly is a Light-Worker and a motivated one at that. I so look forward to where this relationship will go as well as her healing abilities.
A third and different woman also in Sequim who I have known for a while but had not told her what I did, was also told she is a Light-Worker by another psychic. Her son and my son are very good friends at school but rarely played after school together. So she and I had not gotten to know each other very well beyond school events. She went on the internet to do some research about Light-Workers and found my site. She immediately called me and was so excited that there was someone in our small town teaching Reiki and spiritual classes to kids and adults that she could barely contain herself. And, someone she already knew! I was equally excited. We had both felt a friend connection prior but had not acted on it. We have gotten together for tea, Reiki circle and she will soon be taking my Reiki I class. Our boys are happy too because now they get to see each other at Kid’s Reiki circle as well as at school.
I’ve had many other people call me who found my website. The call me asking about what I do and how I can help them in their spiritual lives; men and women alike, although, probably mostly women. Some are from the Olympic Peninsula where I’m from and many are from far away. I am meeting some really amazing people, all because I listened to the messages that Divine sent me and even though I had fears about doing so, I followed them.

Divine’s Help

I am constantly amazed at how the people who I am supposed to meet and work with, through Divine’s help, find me. It is an excellent reminder at the power of Divine’s spirit and my ability to work with it to manifest the healing practice I desire for my life. I am not in this for numbers. I do not care if I reach millions of people. I care that I reach the people who Divine wants for me to meet, the people who need to work specifically with me. That is my goal, to meet the people I can help the most. I’m so grateful I followed Father God’s message and completed the site and all the blogs I was told to write. What if I had not written the Frog Totem blog? I would have missed out on an amazing friendship. No, Divine has a way of hooking us up anyway. But, it’s a very nice story of how we met and I much prefer it. I’ll keep listening and keep writing. I hope you read.

Reiki Quick Tip – Find “Lost” Items

When you lose something you love it’s frustrating and can often be quite expensive if you feel you need to replace it. It can also be frustrating and time-consuming if it’s something like your car keys and you are late for an appointment. Sometimes we no longer needed the item and it was time to say goodbye anyway. However, that can be a challenge of its own, letting go. Maybe WE don’t feel it was time to say goodbye to that item. Maybe WE still wanted that item.

“No, I Wanted That!”

I had this happen years ago with a ring that my husband had given to me BEFORE I had Reiki in my life. Luckily it was not an expensive ring but it was dear to me and I wanted to keep it. For about a year I’d been having difficulty wearing it. My skin had suddenly started peeling and flaking under the gold band. I would take it off at night and do all sorts of lotions and oils to help but it just continued. My body had created an allergy to the fillers in the gold is what I was told. But I didn’t want to stop wearing the ring my husband had given me. So I kept wearing it. One day, I took the ring off to put lotion on. When I came back to the room, it was gone and has been gone ever since. I searched and searched and searched. I never found the ring. We checked the plumbing, no where. Now, looking back, I see the signs. The ring was no longer vibrating with who I was but I didn’t listen.

“Really, Another Life Lesson? When Will They STOP!?”

In most situations in life, even losing our keys, there is a lesson we need to learn. Maybe we need to learn to detach from material things. Maybe we need to learn to listen to our bodies as to what is no longer good for us. Maybe we need to allow ourselves to let go of a person, relationship or situation!? Maybe we need to slow down, take more care in our daily activities and not try to do too much at once (Uh huh, lost your keys lately? LOL) . Maybe we are out of balance with our environment and we need to listen to it. Listening is the first step to finding a lost item that has importance to you.

Steps to Finding a Lost Item

Quite often, if we calm down, listen and learn from a lost item, it is our best chance to be brought back to it. Here are the steps I take with Reiki help, if I want to find a lost item that has meaning to me.

Sometimes this is a quick process and other times it will take more effort. It’s up to you to decide which is needed depending upon what you are trying to find.

First, calm down. Do some deep breathing if need be. Your mind must be calm in order to receive Highest Guidance.
Listen to the situation. Any Reiki level can do this. Do your gassho, sit in meditation or for a quickie, hold intention while you are showering that you will receive information about the situation with your lost item to help you understand what is going on. I do some of my best intuitive work in the shower with the water flowing over my crown chakra. (Always ask Divine Source to be with you when you do any spiritual work.)
Don’t be afraid to look in the mirror, so to speak, and face the issue you are dealing with. (For instance, for me and my ring, I was not listening to what was best for my body AND I was not willing to detach from a material object emotionally or physically.)
Take action. When you get an insight as to what the issue is with the lost item, take action to change the situation before the universe does it for you. The universe will always find a way to balance itself, even if you won’t.
Then you can start looking for the item you have lost.
Sit in Gassho, prayer position, to connect to the Reiki and set intentions. Bring in your Reiki guides of the Highest Order.
Use the long distance Reiki II symbol (HSZSN) OR if you are Reiki I, the intention of finding the lost object. If you feel there is an emotional component to the item add the Mental/Emotional Symbol (SHK) as well. Hold the intention that the Reiki is finding the lost object AND healing your issue at the same time.
Trust in Divine Source to find it for you when you least expect it or to give you a mental message or image as to where to look for it.
Give it time to be found or for you to get a message. Repeat in a few days to repeat your intention to Divine if you do not find it when you want to.
If you do not find it, it was no longer yours. Harsh, but true.
