What is energy healing?
Energy healing is based on the belief that all things in the universe are made up of life force energy, also called subtle energy. When there are blockages in the life force energy illness can occur in the physical body. Blockages in life force energy can be caused by negative emotional situations and strong emotions that get buried or fester long-term. It can also be stagnated by physical injuries, and/or negative mental or spiritual beliefs that have been taught or learned over time.
A healer is able to channel healing energy (In Reiki and IEH® this energy comes directly from our Creator) into the person seeking help by different methods: hands-off, hands on and distance, where the patient and healer are in different locations. Practitioners say that the healing energy is sometimes perceived as a feeling of heat in ones hands, a buzzing feeling of energy on or around the hands or waves of energy flowing through and around the practitioner and/or client.
There are various schools of energy healing, Reiki and IEH® being just two of them. You will find the ones you are supposed to find on your own quest for knowledge and in your own time. You are HERE, maybe you already have!?
There are many different alternative healing methods, as well, like energy healing, some that I have tried are; acupuncture, acupressure, chiropractic, reflexology, shamanic healing and Chinese herbs. But, at the root, they all work to heal the client by releasing the blockages within the client’s energy system.
It is my personal belief that we need many different types of energy healing and alternative medicine because we are all unique. We also constantly change our makeup as individuals as we continue along our healing path. What worked at one time may not work as well later on. Try new things as you go!
Spiritual healing is largely non-denominational and traditional religious faith is not seen as a prerequisite for effecting a cure. Although, I personally feel that it definitely helps to have a belief in a Higher Power, but it is certainly not required.
I personally do not have any interest in proving to people who do not believe in energy healing that it works or is effective. They must open to that in their own time like I did. I agree with the quote by Frank Arjava Petter from “Reiki The Legacy of Dr. Usui,” where he says “Reiki, itself, I mean the energy, cannot be taught. It reveals itself completely on its own if we are attentive. This attention is what the teacher promotes in the student. Energy must not be explained, but experienced.”
