If you live in western Washington and want to come for a Reiki/reading session in person, please call me for an appointment and I’ll give you directions to my location. However, I often forget to tell people about parking before they come.

Rain Shadow Reiki is in a residential neighborhood so sometimes people are confused as to where to park. My family and I recently cut back the juniper bushes in front of our building by about four feet so there is much more space to park right in front and not stick out into the road.
Parking for Big Reiki Events
However, for bigger events, it is ok to park in the driveway or in front of any neighbors house that has pavement or rocks for parking. As long as we park respectfully, don’t trample their plants, leave trash or park in front of mail boxes, they are fine with it.
Look at all this parking!!! We can fit three cars here much more safely now. The bushes had grown almost up to the line of the road.

Happy New Year!!
No better way to start the new year than with some Reiki and some wonderful Reiki people.
For some reason, the first circle of the year always seems to be especially charged with fabulous energy. A lot of positive vibrations I guess. Last nights Reiki Circle was no different, it was truly magical. Thank you to all who participated, each one of you added your unique spirits to the evening proving you are truly spiritually powerful beings. I feel so grateful to have such an amazing community.

We had two tables of healers but at the end, since the table I was at was running later than the other table, and because it was my birthday week, everyone worked on me all at the same time. It was amazing and filled with such love. I got choked up and so emotional I couldn’t say the closing blessing. All so wonderful.
Shameless Sales Pitch for Reiki Circles
If you have an opportunity to go to a Reiki circle near you (Search engine- your town + Reiki Circle), get to know the people and be a part of a spiritual circle like this, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Love, support, compassion, practice, reinforcement of your Reiki channel, guidance from a Master, gratitude, connection to community, connection to Divine Source, full healing for cheap and more, are why I would and do give up one night a month to drop everything else and participate in group healing.
If you aren’t, and you have the possibility to do so, ask yourself, truly, what is holding you back from such a spiritually rewarding activity. Again, this is a question for yourself, not for me. You might be surprised at your answer. If you need help clearing any of those blockages that are getting in your way, feel free to call for a session. When you are ready, it will happen easily.

My Guides Deliver a Mini Miracle Again!!
The weather called for rain all week for Saturday, the day of our annual drum circle. I just kept the thought in my head of “My guides chose this date 8 months ago, they wouldn’t choose a date we’d get rained out on, unless it was part of the learning experience.” I felt confident all would be well.

It was a good thing I was correct in that assumption because we had so many people at this drum circle, plan B would have been a very cramped but cozy drum circle in our living room. Gray skies and rain threatened all day long, then just as people started arriving, just like a miracle, the sun came out and shone down upon us. It was beautiful and much celebrated. We had out biggest and most lively drum circle so far.
Potluck
Good Food makes everything better!!
We started with a potluck for the first time, with some fabulous gluten-free, organic and healthy dishes to choose from. What a pleasure to eat at a potluck and not have to worry about what I’m eating. I’m sensitive to so many things, mainly in packaged foods, soy or wheat. No worries here, I ate happily as did many of my sensitive friends. The food was amazing.
Blessing Ceremony with Sage
We took turns making sure everyone who wanted to receive the sage got it.
Then we moved onto a cleansing, grounding and blessing ceremony with beautiful sage from California that my soul sister Heather gave me as a gift. Sage is known for it’s cleansing ability to clear away negative or like I call ‘old’ energy. Energy that we are ready to let go of, it helped us, but is no longer needed. We intend for this energy to go to Heaven or Mother Earth to be healed too. This is also a blessing to each other that we do this FOR each other in love and devotion to the cleansing of ourselves and our world, together as one.
Oscar went around the circle making sure all the instruments received cleaning and blessing too.
It’s quite a perfect experience. We also just had a lot of fun smoking each other with the sage and feeling our stresses and worries drift away with the smoke. Some had not done this before so it was a completely new experience and others had done this many times. Even the kids got to experience something entirely new to them, opening up their boxes of life experiences at a young age.
Drumming for Healing

Divine told me to get out of my chair and drum on each person in the circle. So, I listened. It was better for me too since moving around is preferable for me to sitting. It was healing for me to be able to move and dance to the beat of the drums.
I truly believe, because my guides have been telling me for about two years and getting stronger and stronger in their messages the more I listen, that sound is the medicine of the future. They are doing great research about how different sound frequencies heal different diseases. (Click on the link on ‘frequencies heal’ to watch a 17 min. video of how sound shatters cancer cells. It is incredible.) It is working against cancer and other diseases such as bacterial infections.
Really getting into the flow of the energy, melding our vibrations together in music and vibrations for healing. When we are all in the trance of the drumming the playing takes on a life of its own and we are able to drum from intuition.
Therefore, I truly believe in the healing power of the drum and other musical instruments and machines that create vibration. When we are feeling joy, bliss and spiritual connection at the same time, such as during a spiritual community event like a drum circle, we can only be lifted up and healed by the process.

The Reiki brings spiritual power, protection and support to all who are running it and surrounded by it. Tonight, that would be everyone here and everyone we brought in with our intentions and our hearts.
any energies that are leaving the other people who are being healed as well as our own. The Reiki and our Reiki guides take this energy to the perfect place for it to be healed itself and recycled into love and light again. It’s a win/win for all involved. While running our Reiki during spiritual activities like drumming we also are able to receive intuitive information that is much-needed. For me this came in messages about getting up and drumming over each person. Then it came in the form of who needed drumming most and where on their body they needed it.
Getting into the vibrations and the music.
I listened and the people who needed the stronger vibrations of my Reiki Attuned drum, got them. One person said when my drum was over their head vibrating it felt like golden Divine Light was streaming into his crown. That was a radiant personal example of why we run Reiki while doing ANY other spiritual activity. Reiki brings Spiritual Power, Protection and Support!!

Winding Up
We had some casual mix and mingle time where Reiki people got to meet and talk with other Reiki people. Then some of us did another round of drumming and some of us kept connecting through talk. It was, speaking for myself at least, a truly blessed evening. I slept like a baby too.
People who wanted stronger vibrations for healing were invited to sit in the center and feel the vibrations coming from all sides. Then I would bring my Reiki Attuned drum and play on the chakras I was guided to play to.

I do not always write about our Reiki circles, but lately it seems there has been something of interest to write about. Last night we had a very nice sized Reiki circle, not out biggest, but big for our small town Reiki community. We had 15 people come, learn about, discuss and share Reiki.
We had three rooms with a massage table in each and five people at each table. Each group working with Reiki independently, but also, I could feel the energy of all 15 of us, all working together as one; one intention, one energy, one purpose – to heal each other. I could also feel, in the bigger picture, all spiritual people all over the world coming together in unity, in one purpose, to heal our world, one person at a time, or 15 at a time in our case. We had people of all experiences with Reiki and some with absolutely no experience at all. We started with a discussion of what Reiki is, then how to do Reiki, then as we know, especially with Reiki that EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER, we DID Reiki on each other. That is what Reiki circle is all about after all, DOING!!
Which leads me to one of my favorite quotes I read in my Reiki I class about Reiki by Frank Arjava Petter from his book “Reiki, The Legacy of Dr. Usui”, “Reiki itself, I mean the energy, cannot be taught. It reveals itself completely on its own if we are attentive. This attention is what the teacher promotes in the student.”

BABY REIKI
Baby M is back and doing Reiki on us. He took my full Reiki I class with his mom a month ago and we believe he spontaneously attuned himself because he’s been running Reiki ever since then. Tonight he came to the circle with his mom. Watching was not enough, he wanted to DO Reiki too! (Photos by Josslyn Streett – do not use without consent from her directly.)
I and one other at our table received our first Reiki from a baby. And, he had very distinct ideas about where he wanted his hands as well as his mother’s hands. He was pushing on her and directing her hands where he wanted them to be. He was quite serious in his practice. But, then, he’s quite a serious guy.
COMING TOGETHER
I also felt a very strong feeling of coming together. Not just this group of 15 people coming together, but the whole world, coming together as ONE, to shift the energy of our planet. These are the feelings I often get at Reiki circle and one of the reasons I love Reiki circle so much and encourage everyone to attend one. Small groups of spiritual people coming together with intention, purpose and Divine Guidance can seriously change the world for the better. We can save ourselves and our world, all at the same time.

Thank you so much for all who attended our circle last night. I’m so incredibly grateful every single time I get to participate with these amazing spiritual people, right here in my own small town. I’m constantly amazed by how many people are coming out of the woodwork to learn Reiki and also, a whole new way of being connected to our Creator through Reiki practice. I love it, live for it because it gives me great hope for our future. And, because it makes life truly magical every single day.

Our first Reiki circle of the new year was filled with a great deal of Divine Love that we all seemed to feel very tangibly. After each session that seemed to be the theme that we would talk about, FEELING the LOVE, FEELING the CONNECTION. It was AWESOME to say the least.

There are so many parts of Reiki circle that I love: being part of a Reiki community, practice, sharing and receiving Reiki from others, which I don’t very often have a chance to do. But, I feel now, the number one reason I continue doing the Reiki circles is the total connection I feel with the other people during a Reiki healing. Feeling connected by our heart chakra cords, coming together for a common purpose with such loving intent, consistently gives me hope for our world. But, it also gives me that reminder that we are not alone, on earth or in heaven. Divine Source is with us, our guides are with us at all times and other Reiki people and healers all over the world are all together working for a better future for our planet. We are not alone in this earthly experience and Reiki circle reminds me of that in the most beautiful and profound way. To FEEL God working within you, that is purpose.
Thank you to the precious souls who participated in last nights circle with us and thank you to everyone who participates in a Reiki circle or share in your community. If you do not, I highly recommend finding one and making it a regular practice, for you, for everyone. There is so much love to be shared, lets share it. JUST DO IT!!
Wow! These kids are simply AMAZING! Friday night we had one of the best Reiki circles for kids that we’ve had so far. What made it so special? The kids! We’ve had some events in our little spiritual Reiki community recently that really had the kids feeling quite vulnerable and scared. Because of these events, they really opened up with their questions and our discussions got deeper than many of my discussions with adults. These kids don’t “pull any punches” so to speak, they get right to the heart of the matter, right to truly what’s scaring them, they are not afraid to show themselves. They just need to feel safe and they will open up quite easily and honestly. We have so much to learn from these kids. I highly recommend coming to a Kids Reiki circle just to listen to what these highly intuitive mini me’s have to say.

The Plan
The lesson we had planned today was about working with spiritual tools. I had a simple list of about 6 to 8 spiritual tools I had jotted down in case they had trouble coming up with some. They came up with almost 30 spiritual tools in a matter of a few minutes, everything on my list and then some. The depth that a 2nd grade girl can go to and think outside the box of most adults astounded me. She said “our lives are spiritual tools.” That blew me away. Yes, old soul, our lives are the ultimate spiritual tool!

The REAL lesson
It’s simple people – these kids are here to TEACH US!! We’d best listen to them!! And soon! Truly listen to them. If we give them a chance and really listen they will tell us all we need to know about how to help our world and ourselves. They are smart, intuitive, heart sensitive and incredibly caring. They care so much that they are extra vulnerable to getting hurt by others easily. We, as adults, parents, teachers, principals, school aides, doctors, counselors, administrators, and humans need to really watch how we talk to them, how we engage them, how we discipline them, and how we listen to them or don’t listen to them in the kids eyes. They are sensitive to our moods, our energy and extremely so to our harsh actions and words. It’s time to all work together to be more confident and less stressed humans to be the best we can be for these kids who are going to help save our world, and who knows, may help save us some day. I wouldn’t doubt it for a minute.

Not so subtle but highly loving sales pitch
Here is where I push a class I completely and totally believe in. I have taken parenting classes from Heather T. Forbes on-line for the last year. She is amazing. She has a very simple approach to working with these very sensitive kids who are always getting in trouble at school for being too flighty, too active, too dreamy, too “can’t sit still”, too rude, too angry and who knows what else. She has helped me be a more confident mom most of the time. I’m still human after all and still lose it sometimes and make mistakes. But, now I know what to do after those Un Buddha like moments. She focuses on keeping the family stress level low AND building your relationship with your child.
And, finally, some help!
Once again this blog didn’t go anywhere I planned it to go. I just let it flow and I’m always surprised where it ends up. If you live in Sequim, I’m starting a little moms support group based on the teachings of Heather Forbes and other similar teachers. We will watch her videos and talk and share with the other moms. Maybe we’ll do some role plays. That always helps me. They will be on Mondays in May at 9 am to 11 am at Rain Shadow Reiki. After that if the moms want to keep going, I do, we’ll probably do it once a month. I have many kinds of tea but no coffee so stop for some before you come if you need it.
Please call or email me if you are interested. Being a parent is a huge challenge, but parenting these very intuitive and sensitive kids is an even bigger commitment. It is an excellent idea to receive Reiki treatments before your first class. It is not required of course, but highly recommended. I believe it makes the transition into energy smoother and even more spiritual for each individual person. Mentally, you get an idea of what is coming, how one gives and receives Reiki and some of the process we go through in order to channel the Reiki energy. When you learn this in the class, it is no longer completely and totally new to you. It has familiarity, thus, you may take it in easier. The Reiki treatment before an attunement also helps to prepare your chakras and spiritual bodies for the attunement process. In some cases this can help people accept the channeling of the Reiki energy for the first time much easier. It may help to release blockages that you didn’t even know were there. However, I feel each persons path is unique and many do not need or desire to have a private session or go to a circle before their first attunement and for them, that is the perfect path. Whatever we do in our Reiki journey is perfect for us. It’s all good. That’s what I love about it. It’s literally, ALL GOOD!

What I also truly love about Reiki is the excitement I felt in the beginning when I was first learning, it has only grown, not diminished like many things do. It gets more and more amazing to me the more I learn. How many careers can you say that about? Plenty I’m sure, but not any others that I have had. PLEASE comment if your career is more exciting to you now than it was when you started over six years or more ago!!! And do tell us what that career is. WOW! What a great Reiki circle we had on Saturday. I felt a need to write a post about it. You know, if you are one of my students, I talk about the Reiki circle a lot. That’s because I so totally believe in it.
This month we talked about healing ourselves and others using a technique of reliving past lives. We talked for about an hour, answered questions and I shared some of my favorite books about past life healing (which are all available in my lending library)
I led everyone into a meditation for them to experience their past lives themselves. I was pleasantly surprised EVERYONE was able to retrieve a past life themselves, even if they have had very little meditation experience. I don’t know why I was surprised other than it was my first time doing this particular meditation with anyone else. But, when I do past life hypnosis every one has been able to do it as well. This meditation is very similar to that. But, with leading a whole group of people this time, I had to wait until the meditation was over to hear how it was working. I loved hearing the lives that each person experienced themselves and HOW it is able to help them heal something in their lives NOW. It was very exciting. (For more Past Life Healing stories). I’d love to do this topic again in a future circle. It is of course, one of my favorites!
The more people in a spiritual group, the more powerful the energy, connection to the energy and connection to Divine Source!
Another quick pitch for the Reiki circle. I believe in it so much and for so many reasons. Here are some of them off the top of my head:
No matter how busy your life is, you can fit Reiki in once a month. YES, you can! It’s a matter of priorities. Make YOU a priority!
Practice, practice and more practice! Here is a chance to practice on other Reiki people CONSISTENTLY once every month. (Twice a month if you have children)
Getting together in groups is a stress reliever in itself, but a Reiki group must be 10 x the stress relief! We always feel GREAT afterwards.
Getting together with like-minded people is also important for your spiritual growth, affirmation of who you are and the journey you are on.
The more you run Reiki the more you raise your vibration, are able to run more energy and receive information better as well.
When you run energy as a group, your abilities expand even faster and you are able to learn more and TRUST your abilities better.
You become much more confident in your abilities when you come and practice them with others at Reiki circle and are able to ask questions and share ideas.
Plus, It’s just so much FUN!
