WE LOVE REIKI ! REIKI II CLASS FEBRUARY 2015

A BIG HUGE CONGRATULATION TO MY REIKI II CLASS THIS WEEKEND!!!  Karen, Jayne, Stevie, Jeanne and Rena all showed up and blew me away with their open hearts, their dedication to daily self practice and they desire to learn more, more, more, about Reiki and healing.

Reiki II EditBarb3-15,1This is a class of ladies who really know the benefits of practicing their Reiki on themselves, their loved ones and their pets.  In a few short months of having Reiki in their hands, they have done a whole lot of practice and seen the benefits to it also.  When you DO the Reiki, you will FEEL, SEE, and EXPERIENCE the magic in your life.

Congratulations Reiki I New Years Class of 2015!!

CONGRATULATIONS to my first Reiki I class of 2015!!  Every Reiki class is special for me, but they are all unique in their own ways too.  This class seemed to not have a similarity connecting them in the beginning.  But, I know, that by the end of class, similarities and connections appear, and they did, in quite magical ways.  By the end of day two this group of ladies had faced their fears together, blew their ‘boxes’ wide open and gave my dog Mandy constant cuddles throughout the two days of class.  Mandy is one happy Reiki dog.

Animal loving connected us and much more.  The first class was on Monday.  The ladies went home, practiced self Reiki Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and by Thursday had me in tears with the stories of the mini-miracles that they were already creating in their lives with just three days of Reiki.  Truly remarkable.  I cannot divulge details, but these ladies gave me many good reasons why I’m so incredibly grateful, every single day, that I get to teach Reiki.  Thank you ladies for choosing me to be your teacher!!  I’m so honored.

Adding Reiki Successfully to other Healing Careers

They may now call themselves Reiki Practitioners and charge money for their Reiki services if they so chose.  Most people chose to practice a bit before they start charging or charge by donation.  But, sometimes you get students who are already working in the healing field, as I had in this class.

This is a very talented group of women, most of them already working as healers in some way.  We had a massage therapist, a Donna Eden Energy Medicine Healer, a Social Worker who advocates for women in dire situations, a professional Psychic and two students new to healing but with natural abilities and wanting to take their Reiki farther –  all in this one class.

I absolutely love to teach current healers how to incorporate Reiki into what they are already doing.  Reiki easily adapts to anyone and any career you already have.

However, not everyone successfully adds Reiki on to their current career.

Adding Reiki to other Healing Careers

I have seen this many times, a massage therapist, cranial-sacral or some other type of body worker who works full-time at their field, takes a Reiki class and then doesn’t use it.   I talk to many of them after the fact, it goes something like this, “Yeah, I took the Reiki class but haven’t done much with it.  I feel it turn on sometimes while I’m working on someone, but most of the time I forget it’s there.”

Reiki as the Perfect Compliment to ANY Other Healing Modality

I probably see the most massage therapists of any career taking my Reiki classes. Reiki is the perfect complement to this form of bodywork but also a group I see having difficulty adding Reiki to their practice. A few simple additions to their Reiki practice could help them to be more successful at both massage and Reiki both.

It makes me sad to hear comments like this one, because I know deep down in my core how great Reiki is and how it can be the perfect compliment to any healing modality.  Sometimes people tend to box Reiki up in a nice little package of “healing physically” or “healing stress” without really understanding within them what that means.

Others get so wrapped up in the information they receive in Reiki I but don’t successfully create a daily practice to bring Reiki into their lives.  the process of Reiki is incredibly simple, but the discipline is hard.  Reiki brings Divine miracles into our lives, but only if we practice it.

Reiki Power, Protection & Support

I talked in last week’s blog about how Reiki brings you Divine Power, Protection and Support to your every day life in a spiritual/non-religious way, but also to healing situations in particular.  Here is a link to that blog to refresh yourself on what power, protection and support mean to you during a healing.

Here is HOW you can practice a few important steps to incorporate Reiki into your healing path.

 TIPS To Successfully Incorporate Reiki Into Your Healing Practice!

  • Make the Choice to Invite Reiki into your life as the spiritual base that helps, guides, and supports you through all your healing work, personal and professional.  Because Reiki is from YOUR personal Divine Source, it would benefit healers of all kinds to bring in the Reiki first, before they do ANY spiritual work, before they do
    Any career where you are in close proximity to clients and their personal chatter can cause transference of energy from them to you, or them taking yours. This can cause exhaustion and early burn out.

    ANY client work.  Being a caregiver/bodyworker/healer is a challenge and to do it for years can be very difficult on your physical, emotional and mental bodies.  Reiki helps to ground you and cushion you from taking on the issues and energies of the client. Whether you are a healer, a manicurist, a hairdresser, a tattoo artist, a nurse, any kind of career where you have direct interaction with clients can cause this kind of energy interaction and wear you out over time. Burn out in these ‘helping’ careers is quite common.  This is less apt to happen when Reiki is with you every day.  This will help you to have more energy at the end of the day, end of the week and be able to continue your healing work without getting burn out.  Plus it helps you to have a more positive outlook every single day. Again, a win/win.

  • Practice with only the Reiki – I believe when adding a new healing modality it’s important to work ONLY with that modality to get a strong connection to it.  I don’t mean stop working, I mean in your time off from work, practice some sessions on people JUST with Reiki.  This is the only way to truly feel the Reiki energy and what it brings to your practice and client all by itself.  Tell your practice clients that you are new and ask them for feedback.  This will give you confirmation of how the Reiki is helping them.
  • Do self Reiki every day – Reiki is so simple, some people just don’t get it. When you make Reiki a daily practice you will very

    quickly and easily feel the effects that Reiki can have in your life.  You will be connected 24/7 to that Divine flow of spiritual power, protection and information support I was talking about in the other blog.  It makes daily life less stressful, go more smoothly, and easier with fewer worries.  But, it also heals you and connects you to Reiki in a powerful way, one that you won’t be able to dismiss.

  • Build a relationship with Reiki – Reiki is a direct connection to YOUR Higher Power. We are not working with out own life force energy here, we are working with Divine and Intelligent healing energy.  The more we work with our Reiki ability, the more we have that direct connection to our Higher Power, even when we aren’t working.  The more I feel connected to my God, the more hope I have for human life and the ability to be successful at it.  This then translates into my work life, helping me to have more energy to get through a day, helping me to be more patient in working with clients, helping me to have strong grounding and boundaries so I don’t take on other people’s old energies and make me sick.  This relationship with Reiki can support us in all of these ways, but most of all, it helps me to KNOW I am doing deep and important spiritual work for me and my client both.  To me, it doesn’t get more important than that.
  • Review any ethical issues with your Reiki teacher about adding Reiki to your career and HOW to do this without disrespecting your client’s wishes and boundaries.  We need to have our client’s permission to do Reiki.  If you are in a career where asking for this permission is not possible, then how can you still work with your Reiki to enhance your experience?  I will write a whole blog on this issue and refer the link back to this one when it’s done so you can read that too.  Meanwhile, talk to your teacher, ask your Reiki guides for help or think outside the box as to how to do this with the highest ethical standards.

Congratulations to Our Newest Reiki I Students! The Ones Who Made it Through!

What a wonderful and fun group of women.  I know, I always say that, because it’s true.  I’m blessed to have deep, inquisitive, curious, strong, respectful, spiritual and simply amazing students to take my classes.

Of course, as teacher, I take some credit, because I put the intention into my manifestation of amazing students every day, that I only get the best of the best students who vibrate well with me and are meant to take my classes.  But, it’s a collision course for success, because they’ve been doing the same in manifesting the right Reiki teacher for them, so it’s literally impossible for them to NOT find me and for me to NOT find them.  I love the way the Universe works.

Healing Crisis BEFORE a Reiki Class

When I took my Karuna Reiki class from William Lee Rand, he sent the books out beforehand so we could study the many symbols prior to the class.  My ‘healing crisis’ or as I call it, HEALING OPPORTUNITY started right away and lasted in my opinion for a few years.  It was powerful or pre-menopause, not 100% sure on that one.  But, the healing opportunity started as soon as I received my manual a month before the class when in the summertime, I got a head cold.  I don’t get head colds in the summer.

HealingCrisisChangeThis can happen with any of the healing classes we take.  As soon as we make the firm decision to change or evolve the healing opportunity can start.  This is not the ‘fault’ of Reiki, this is a conscious decision your soul and human self has made to change, but change also comes with evolution, raising our vibration, learning.  This can look like an emotional upset, cold or flu symptoms, strange dreams, trouble sleeping or being challenged by some of your old belief patters in hurtful and difficult ways.  This is the cleansing process that the student chooses when they choose CHANGE.  When they choose to evolve and get rid of the OLD and bring in the NEW vibration, our body, mind and spirit start to dump out the old stuff that no longer serves us.  Some people start this process after the class, but yes, some of us lucky ones start right away.

From Six Down to Three

Thus, I had three people sign up for the class this week who were not able to complete it. Two of them were so sick they weren’t able to even attend the class, one came and went home early.  Could they simply have colds?  Yes, of course.  Could they be detoxifying old stuff they no longer need and thus triggering a Healing Opportunity?  Yes, of course.  It doesn’t matter the why,  the answer is the same, REIKI!!!  Drinking lots of water, extra rest and taking an epsom salts bath helps a great deal too.  So, my recommendation is, stick with your first intuition to evolve and take the Reiki class at your next possible opportunity.  If you already have Reiki, REIKI YOURSELF A WHOLE LOT, EVERY DAY!  That is my prescription for a healing crisis/opportunity.

I’m greatly proud of ALL my Reiki students for being on their spiritual path and continuing to move forward despite difficult conditions.  You are so much stronger than you know.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to my most recent Reiki I beginner class students.  Every class is so different because the people are all different.  Reiki I Class9-18-14,5They bring with them their own history, their own stories, their own unique gifts to share and it creates an experience that is unique in and of itself, every single time.  I love it and I never get bored, ever.  This class was highly dedicated to healing themselves on some very deep levels.  I was quite impressed with their dedication to this goal and their courage it take it on head on.  Please help me in sending Reiki Blessings to this wonderful trio of women, Karen, Joan and Zorina.

Congratulations August 2014 Reiki I Class!!

YOU KNOW WE HAD FUN WITH THIS CLASS!!  You can tell by the photo what a an enthusiastic and energetic class this was.  Congratulations to Lynn, Dick, Sharon M., Sharon R., Ulia, Jerry and Milton!!

This class had wonderful questions, and questioning of technique and ideas so that I had to dig deep into my spiritual experience to answer many of them.  Lets just say, I believe I told ALL my stories during this class.  And, we only went over by half an hour.  Not bad.  We had so many questions on the parking lot that I’ll have to write four or five blogs to answer them.  Seriously, a fabulous group of people.

Have I said it lately, I LOVE LOVE LOVE TEACHING REIKI!!  I’ll post more photos on Facebook if you’d like to see them or share them, but here are my favorites.

ReikiI8-28-14,2It was Sharon M.’s idea to do some Reiki drumming to help Milton and Jerry connect with their spirit guides. She was listening to her intuition and she was right ON!  I always love when I get to mix it up and do something different for a class. This was powerful and helpful. Connection was made!  It was awesome, different from what I normally do in class during the spirit guide meditation but it worked beautifully.

I’m so amped up from this class, I can’t go to sleep yet.  I feel so grateful for the path I am on.  I cannot think of anything else in this world I’d rather do than hang out with very cool spiritual people talking about Reiki, drumming, learning about chakras, spirit guides, helping and healing people, it’s all too good to be true.  But, it is true, it’s my life and I’m incredibly blessed.  THANK YOU TO ALL OF MY AMAZING AND LOVING REIKI STUDENTS!  I LOVE YOU ALL!!

Such love pouring out of this class today makes me full of love and wanting to share it.

Congratulations to 6 New Reiki I Students!!!

I’d like to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to my recent beginning Reiki I class.  Each class comes together for a reason that usually becomes clear during the process of the class through sharing and healing.

The Love of Family

One of the themes for this class was clear before we even started, the love of family.  Two of my own cousins, who also happen to be husband in wife, were students in the class as well as two sisters and a student who is related to another of my students.  The love in the room was palpable and it affected each of us in very spiritual and emotional ways.  I felt the energy very powerfully, especially during the attunements and the practice healing.

Spiritual Guidance

One of the other themes that brought this class united was all of our interest in spiritual guides, also called Spirit Guides, Reiki Guides, and many other names.  The whole group really woke up and had a ton of questions when it came to this topic so we spent a lot of extra time talking about and explaining techniques in working with one’s Reiki guides.  This is not a normal part of original Reiki class, but it is in my opinion a very important part of doing any spiritual work, including Reiki.

And, the more we practice our Reiki, the more chances we have to expand out ability to work with our guides.  In Reiki I class we do a meditation to introduce us to our guides.  If the group shows special interest like this one, I teach a special technique that I created for myself years ago to make sure we bring in the Highest and most Enlightened source of Reiki Guides only.  We only want to work with the best of the best to get the Highest Form of information.

This is also one of the benefits to the two-day Reiki I class, we have the time to expand on the subjects that interest each class the most.  Each class is so unique, I’m so immensely grateful for being able to do this work, and personalize it too.

To all Reiki students, a reminder, Reiki class only gives you the tools to do Reiki, it is up to you to USE THE TOOLS GIVEN TO YOU!  DO your Reiki every day and you WILL see changes.  You will grow spiritually and heal physically, emotionally and mentally.  It is your choice.  Your free will.

JUST DO IT!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO MY SIX NEW REIKI PRACTITIONERS!!

WHOO HOO!!

Yesterday I taught another wonderful Reiki II class with six inquisitive and lively ladies.  Yes, we went over our time a bit, but we had a great day, learned a whole lot, meditated with and connected to each other and the first three Reiki Symbols and they received their Reiki II Attunement.  I think I speak for all of them, when I say it was worth it.  Congratulations ladies, you are now, officially, Reiki Practitioners!  As Reiki Practitioners they are able to charge money for their services if they so chose.

Congratulations March 9th Reiki I Class!!

Reiki I Class Plus Baby M., Completed Successfully!!

Well it took two weeks, four classes and eighteen hours, but we completed the Reiki I class with a nursing baby and it was FABULOUS!!  I’m posting a few photos here for fun.  We knew this class would take a little more time and patience due to having an 8 month old baby with us, but really, he was the most well-behaved and the quietest of us all.  LOL.  Baby M rarely fussed at all and when he did we knew it was for a good reason, diaper, nursing or I was just talking way too much.  Usually the last one.

I got a whole lot of baby holding time during this class, during each meditation, each practice session, it was a great blessing to me who has older kids. I got my 'baby time' for sure.

He liked watching me talk a lot, as long as my hands were moving too.  He watched all the attunements with great interest, 35 minutes straight and he watched each person while they did the practice healings on each other, until he got bored with that and was more into his teething and rolling over.

The ladies involved in the class had great questions that provoked interesting conversations thus causing us to have a wonderful time but also go a bit over on time.  But, as we learn in class IT’S ALL GOOD!  I had a great time and I believe they did too.  Hopefully some of them will comment here so we know. Hint hint.

Amber practicing on Gigi.  This hand position is good for relaxing and dissolving stress and fear, sinus problems, eye, nose, tooth and jaw ailments.  It also balances the pineal and pituitary glands which correspond to the 6th and 7th chakras.

When working with Reiki I teach that there is no wrong.  It’s important to remember this when you leave your class and go home to practice.  I’m not with you but your Reiki guides are.  They will remind you, you cannot do it wrong.  Even if you do something ‘wrong’, you learn something from it and thus, it was perfect all along.  Therefore, IT’S ALL GOOD!!  This allows us to open up our box of possibilities and try new things, stretch our abilities and imagination and thus, learn more, do more and be more.  It is one of the things I love most about doing and teaching Reiki.  I cannot do it wrong!  Even not doing it, is a lesson in and of itself.

The practice sessions went really well.  Each person was able to FEEL the energy both giving and receiving.  The practice session is the most important part of the class.

It takes everything we have learned through the days of class and brings it all together in action.  DOING and having an EXPERIENCE with energy is critical to being able to go back home and feel confident practicing by oneself.   During class each person gets to practice on oneself and on one other person, cementing in their new abilities.

I find that each and every class had a common thread to it.  We have something that brought us together, something we all have in common.  This class, among other things, was, of course,our love of children.

Congratulations ladies and Baby M. you have completed Reiki I class!!  Go practice and have fun with it.  I have a feeling your families will get lots of good Reiki practice too.  Lucky families.
