This class loved to laugh and I got to laugh right along with them. We had so much fun, and they didn’t take anything too seriously, EXCEPT, the final practice session. They did a fabulous job and we went way over time (Ok, a bit over time) because we were all so into it. LOVED IT!!

Quite often at the end of the two-day class, we’ve learned so much new information that some students feel overwhelmed. But, I’ve seen this before and every time, the practice session brings everything together. The practice session just helps it all make sense. When the Reiki is flowing the healing has begun, whether the student feels they can do it or not, they do, because with the Reiki flowing, the healing takes place no matter what. It’s incredibly confirming to both student, teacher and the person on the table receiving the Reiki.
Just The Channel
No matter how many times a student feels they need to look at the book to see the hand positions, no matter how much they forget in the moment what they have learned in the past two days, and no matter how much they doubt themselves, the healing still takes place. The Reiki goes to work in-spite of us to help us through that student learning phase, to help us build confidence in ourselves and in the Reiki and to help us get past the nagging beliefs in our head that we can’t do this. The Reiki heals us at the same time as the client. It is a truly beautiful thing.
See, we can be serious too.
During the practice session, the client feels heat, tingles or energy shooting up and/or down their body. The student might feel the same thing or something totally different, but they all feel some kind of confirmation that the Reiki IS RUNNING THROUGH THEM AND THEY ARE FACILITATING HEALING. It’s a spiritually powerful feeling. It can be humbling being JUST THE CHANNEL but it can also be FREEING. All we have to do is BE the CHANNEL. The Reiki simply flows through us, and all we have to do is allow it to. The Reiki does so much of the hard work for us that truly, anyone can learn this healing technique. That is the beauty of it. That is the simplicity of it. And that is what makes it so popular because truly, ANYONE CAN DO THIS!! That is spiritually empowering to the whole world!!
So, if you have not take a Reiki class before, please know, YOU TOO CAN DO THIS TOO and it’s so worth it.

If you live in western Washington and want to come for a Reiki/reading session in person, please call me for an appointment and I’ll give you directions to my location. However, I often forget to tell people about parking before they come.
My son Sawyer helping out with the day long project of cutting these very overgrown juniper bushes.
Rain Shadow Reiki is in a residential neighborhood so sometimes people are confused as to where to park. My family and I recently cut back the juniper bushes in front of our building by about four feet so there is much more space to park right in front and not stick out into the road.
Parking for Big Reiki Events
However, for bigger events, it is ok to park in the driveway or in front of any neighbors house that has pavement or rocks for parking. As long as we park respectfully, don’t trample their plants, leave trash or park in front of mail boxes, they are fine with it.
Look at all this parking!!! We can fit three cars here much more safely now. The bushes had grown almost up to the line of the road.

My Reiki Guides Celebrate
A personal story from Josslyn about spiritual beings being present during her Reiki Master attunement.
I took my Reiki III class with one other student who was highly developed in her Clairvoyant abilities. She impressed us all with what she saw and shared with us in our energy fields, because we felt it to be true in our own inner knowing we believed in her abilities. At the time of the attunement, we sat side by side in chairs, both feeling like we were being attuned together as one, rather than one at a time.
I rarely feel any energy movement in my physical body when I get attunements, but I feel a great deal as a Master/Teacher when I give attunements. However, I have found, that during attunements, I see more than I feel. This came as a bit of a surprise to me on this day. I guess because I hadn’t thought to ‘look’ for anything before this attunement. And, if I had looked on purpose, maybe they wouldn’t have come. Who knows. But, today, I wasn’t looking and they did come. They showed themselves very obviously in front of me, celebrating, dancing and singing, right where I could see them easily and not miss their celebration.

I remember clearly during that Reiki Master Attunement, the other student and I both saw and were aware of many fairies and other elemental beings singing and dancing and celebrating all around us during and shortly after our attunement. Some were dancing, some beating on drums and others singing. They were totally joyful.
Coming Home to Reiki
I had the feeling they were celebrating my coming back to Reiki. They told me that I had been attuned to Reiki in another life, that I had been a Reiki Master there too and they were putting on a big party in honor of my “coming home.”
I loved it. I was in awe. It reminded me that not only is the Reiki Attunement a highly spiritual and sacred process but one worth celebrating with music, dance and great joy as well! The fact that the other student and my teacher were all a part of this celebration too, was just great confirmation and the icing on the cake, so to speak.
This fairy celebration has stayed with me for many years, reminding me of so many important lessons and keeping them close to my heart.
Some of them were drumming, some singing and some dancing. All were celebrating.
It reminds me regularly:
That we are not alone in our Reiki practice. Our Reiki Guides and our Divine Source truly are invested in how we do, what we do, and who we do it with. They are equally committed to our spiritual progress as we are.
It reminds me to bring joy to my life and my spiritual practice each and every day.
It reminds me that I have done this before and now, I am just ‘remembering’ what I already know, what I already feel inside.
It reminds me of the supreme sacredness of the Reiki Attunement process each and every time I’m attuning a new student to Reiki.
Being a Reiki Master/Teacher and giving attunements to others is such an immense honor, it also reminds me of how blessed I am to be doing this.

My living room filled to the brim with kids, parents, Reiki Teachers and Reiki pets. Perfect chaos. LOL
Reiki Kids Class
About once a year I teach a Reiki Kids Class, usually close to summer break. This is guided by the children themselves and Divine, of course. When they are ready, they appear and tell me or their Reiki parent and I book a class. This class, this year, was my youngest group yet. The program I have is written for 6 and up and I have taught teen classes as well. This class was mostly 8 and under all the way to age 2. It was total joyful chaos and I loved it. I believe they did too.
Sharing Love

Young children have a natural affinity for Reiki. They see it and feel it as part of their normal every day state of being. Of course, I’m teaching children who are being raised by Reiki moms and dads, so they tend to be sensitive to energy and already in many cases, doing healing work without being taught. They just do it as their natural life process. Sometimes it’s the children who motivate the parents to follow through and take a Reiki class as well. It’s beautiful to watch and even more beautiful if this pretense to love is nurtured into their older years and kept as part of who they are as they grow up.

Many kids will forget that they saw angels and fairies as kids or that they used to lay their hands on their siblings or parents for healing. But, if the children see their parents doing this throughout their childhood and young adult years, they are much more likely to keep these abilities and work with them in their adult life. This is, I believe, what will change our world for the better. Love and sharing it daily. To me, and these kids, Reiki is Divine Love. And love heals.
Attunements on Children
Amber, one of my Reiki Master/Teacher students and mom to some of the Reiki kids, helped with six of the attunements and I did six too. Kaia and Allie get their Reiki I attunements first while the other kids color and watch the process.
When attuning children to Reiki, it’s much to me like adults. I show the kids what the attunement is like first. I explain to them that this is a sacred ceremony to ‘hook’ them up to the special Reiki healing from our Higher Power. (We talk about what Higher Power means at the beginning of class. Most of the kids prefer the word LOVE.) And, I always make sure it is the choice of the child to be attuned. Even the two-year olds have been talking with their mom and dad and me prior to the class to make sure this is what they want. (I do this with telepathy but there are many other ways. reading books about Reiki, Doing Reiki with them prior to the class so they are totally aware of what it is, body language and just simply

listening to them and how they behave.) If a child throws a tantrum or shows at the time of the attunement that they are not ready, listen to them. The right time will appear for them or not, it’s all good. Go with the flow.
With this class, after explaining the attunement and how it’s important to be very quiet and respectful to each person’s experience, they got it. During the 12 attunements we did, which took almost an hour, the kids colored their coloring pages, but were quiet and respectful the whole entire time. They watched and took it in and seemed to understand the full spiritual impact this ceremony had on each of us. Watching the other children receive the attunements had a powerful impact on all of us in the room.
For some, the whole day was just too much activity. Vaughn, one of our two-year olds, my very first Reiki baby and attuned himself to Reiki at 8 months old, got attuned again on this day by his own mom. These are the precious stories of my life and I couldn’t be more grateful to Reiki for what I get to do with my life. TY God!
The parents told me after, how impactful that was to them, to be able to witness this Divine ritual. In my previous classes I had done the attunements in a separate room while the kids were involved in a spiritual art project. I wasn’t sure they would enjoy watching each of the other children being attuned or that they would be able to stay quiet for the whole hour. I had also visualized it in different rooms before the class and saw this as guidance for how it would be best to do the attunements. It may have been right for those classes and that time. But, this experience was so great, I’m going to ask the kids from now on, get their buy in to the ceremony and go from there. The kids are quite amazing, they know what’s best for them. It’s up to us to trust them.
Reiki Freeze Tag!! A HUGE hit!
After sitting for an hour being attuned, the kids were ready for some out-door play, so we played a rambunctious few games of ‘Reiki Freeze Tag’ where the kids got to take turns being the freezer and the healer. It was chaos again, but hilarious to watch. The game got especially exciting when my 14-year-old son was the freezer and we had three different healers, one of which was spontaneous and top-secret because no one but he knew he was the healer. LOL, gotta love kids. So much fun.

I’ll tell the rest of the story with photos, because they really say so much. (more photos below) It is my goal to continue to attune and teach children Reiki, to inspire other Reiki Teachers to do the same and to encourage families to do Reiki together. One small step in the right direction equals one big step towards saving our people and our planet. Love will make the difference, it always has.
The kids were eager to practice Reiki on their Sensei (Teacher) Josslyn and she loved it. The more Reiki the better is what I always say. Loving kid Reiki is the best. I think they’ve got me well covered.
We now follow-up the kids Reiki class with summertime Reiki fun. We’ll meet as often as we can to reinforce the Reiki healing they have learned so they can have real hands on practice. But, the daily practice with their Reiki parents is the most important. Our kids do what we do. They watch us. If we do Reiki, they will. If we speak lovingly, they will too. It’s all up to us as parents to reinforce the positive ideals, or not. Don’t worry, Reiki will guide you along the path. You truly are not alone in this.

First of all, I’d like to say a BIG HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our All Mens Reiki class!! These men put aside all fears and reservations about what Reiki MIGHT be and went for it. And, boy, did they go for it!
My Reiki men, truly a courageous group of men. Reiki on!!
A couple of months ago, two of my Reiki students informed me that their husbands, and one father would like to take a Reiki class. “Ok”, I said, “lets manifest that.” I knew if it was meant to be, it would happen, and it did. I opened the class up to all men who would like to take the class and asked my students (who are mostly women) to talk to their partners about the class. Four brave men showed up, plus my husband to add moral support.
Brand Spankin’ New
These men knew very little about Reiki, other than it had helped the women in their lives. The first thing we did in class was make sure that no single man in the room had been hog tied and brought against his own free will. Nope, everyone came on their own. Every man who heard about the class had the choice to come or not. These men showed up. Not only did they show up, they gave it everything they had. This group of men, who were unsure of themselves in a spiritual setting and unsure of Reiki, asked more questions than most of my other classes AND they even asked questions about Reiki that I didn’t know. They are the first class to GIVE ME HOMEWORK!! Cuddos to them.
Never Give Up, Never Surrender
All done, feeling pretty good!! Congratulations Dan, Robert, Noel, Joe and Jacob!! Truly open-hearted courageous men in my book!
After learning about Reiki a bit, being attuned and practicing Reiki on themselves with success all on their first day, the men started really opening up not just their curiosity but their hearts as well. By day two, they were totally into it, taking it in and even enjoying it–although, still somewhat perplexed and confused at times.
They did not give up. They continued on fully present, fully committed and fully prepared to truly work at making this Reiki healing part of their lives. I was so proud of them, so amazed at their commitment and desire to learn and open up and so honored to be learning as much from them as they were learning from me. Even when parts of the class, like meeting their spirit guides, got emotional and touched their hearts in ways they didn’t expect, these men grasped the experience and allowed it, they didn’t fight it, they just accepted. It was truly beautiful to be a part of.
Normal, Everyday Guys
These men had very little exposure to spiritual classes or events before this class. This truly was their first experience into energy and what is possible with it. They opened up their heart and their minds, and their crown chakras (literally) and totally went for it. That takes a great deal of courage.
We all have choices in our lives, sometimes we don’t feel we do, but we do. Many men had the choice to come to this class and didn’t. The men who showed up could have come, but closed off to something totally strange and new to them, but they didn’t. They chose to come and they chose to jump in with both feet first into the deep end and totally go for it. Because of that, they each had their own true spiritual experience that made the class unique to them and will most likely stand out in their minds as a very important day in their spiritual growth. Having the spiritual experience is what most of us are seeking without knowing it, if you chose to open up to it as these men did, you will get it. Maybe not at first, maybe not what you expect, but you will get it.
Now what they do with Reiki from here on out is truly their choice.
I’m available for help after class to answer questions, hold Reiki Circles and Round Tables, but it is up to each student to DO for themselves, to ‘show up’ for themselves each and every day and actually practice their Reiki on themselves. Reiki is like anything else in this world, we have to actually DO IT in order to feel any difference in our lives. That is a little trick Divine plays on us, we must do a certain amount for ourselves, then we’ll be met part way by miracles. Are you ready for your Reiki miracles?

These two beautiful souls have very different reasons for becoming Reiki Master/Teachers, but both have walked a journey to get here and I’m so proud of them for the intuition they have trusted, the determination and the ingenuity of them to get this far.
To get to the level of Reiki Master/Teacher one has practiced, experienced and asked a lot of good questions in order to complete this part of their journey. It takes dedication to Reiki and to themselves and their spiritual path in order to truly feel ready to go the next step. It is a journey worthy of our respect and celebration.
The Spiritual Path to Reiki Master/Teacher

None of us has a ‘normal’ path to get up to the level of Reiki Master/Teacher, it’s unique and special to each of us. I don’t believe there is one right way or one right time frame for anyones path for this, it’s up to us and our Creator and that is all there is. If we are not ready, no one needs to tell us that because Divine will put road blocks or speed bumps in the road to slow us down and help us learn our lessons. We will get there if we are meant to and when we are meant to, and not a moment sooner. It’s all quite beautiful and quite frustrating and painful at the same time. But in the end, when we do get there, we can look back at our trials and tribulations and feel fulfilled about the work we have done, what we have let go and how far we have come as a human learning great lessons in small ways.

I have watched this process with many students, other healers and myself as well. I have learned to trust it, go with the flow and enjoy much of it. Having the higher knowing that nothing we go through is wasted, everything has a purpose; helps a lot. We may not know that purpose, but our Higher Power does and I’ve had enough evidence along the way to know that and it helps my faith. There are many ways to learn this, Reiki is just one of them, but a truly beautiful one. A way that connects us to our Higher Power and helps us to move forward on our spiritual path in a BIG WAY one. A very worthwhile one.

What a perfect way to start the week, with a Reiki class!! I attuned four new Reiki II Practitioners yesterday, Beth, Stephanie, Kimberly and Naomi, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

There are so many ways to work with Reiki in our lives to make our lives more spiritual. To actually work with this human body as a spiritual tool, making our lives more fulfilling every single day. All four of these women are so different and have such different paths in life, it’s always exciting for me to watch their journey unfold as time goes by. All four of these women say they want to work with their Reiki as healers, but what does that mean? We don’t know yet. There is no one way to be a healer. They will most likely each carve their own path and be unique in their healing choices. But, knowing they want to do more with their Reiki, knowing they want to take more classes, gives them a goal, an insight and a possibility to work towards. It’s very exciting as long as they allow for Divine changes in the path, and I do believe these ladies are out of the box thinkers and will do that. I can’t wait to find out.
One of the many great parts of my path as a Reiki Teacher is to be a small part of this journey and watch my students grow and change and have those ‘A-ha’ moments that are so miraculous. I am so grateful to be a Reiki Teacher and to be a part of these remarkable women’s lives. Thank you to all who chose me as your teacher, thank you for allowing me to witness and play along side. I truly LOVE what I do and you all make it extraordinary! Take your Reiki hands and stretch the box, see what is possible ladies!!

A BIG HUGE CONGRATULATION TO MY REIKI II CLASS THIS WEEKEND!!! Karen, Jayne, Stevie, Jeanne and Rena all showed up and blew me away with their open hearts, their dedication to daily self practice and they desire to learn more, more, more, about Reiki and healing.
This is a class of ladies who really know the benefits of practicing their Reiki on themselves, their loved ones and their pets. In a few short months of having Reiki in their hands, they have done a whole lot of practice and seen the benefits to it also. When you DO the Reiki, you will FEEL, SEE, and EXPERIENCE the magic in your life.

(Hercules had been badly injured by a bad shoeing) They both seem soft and gentle. Princess often shows the whites of her eyes but she was cuddly with no anxiety tonight. They both soaked up Reiki. Herc didn’t stand off at all (The first time we worked with him with the Reiki he stood away from us, but took it in for a long time). They stayed close to each other in the pasture today, more than usual. I think they have had a shift in their herd behavior. I didn’t see the usual “you’re in my space so I have to pin my ears”. CONGRATULATIONS to my first Reiki I class of 2015!! Every Reiki class is special for me, but they are all unique in their own ways too. This class seemed to not have a similarity connecting them in the beginning. But, I know, that by the end of class, similarities and connections appear, and they did, in quite magical ways. By the end of day two this group of ladies had faced their fears together, blew their ‘boxes’ wide open and gave my dog Mandy constant cuddles throughout the two days of class. Mandy is one happy Reiki dog.
Congratulations Michelle, Michel, Stevie, Merala and Rena. You made my month for sure!! I know 2015 is going to be a great year!
Animal loving connected us and much more. The first class was on Monday. The ladies went home, practiced self Reiki Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and by Thursday had me in tears with the stories of the mini-miracles that they were already creating in their lives with just three days of Reiki. Truly remarkable. I cannot divulge details, but these ladies gave me many good reasons why I’m so incredibly grateful, every single day, that I get to teach Reiki. Thank you ladies for choosing me to be your teacher!! I’m so honored.
