“Your path is illuminated by the light, yet darkness lets the stars shine bright.”~ J.L.W. Brooks
Happy Winter Solstice to you all! I am sending Reiki Blessings to all of you following and reading this blog, each and every day. I’m also filling this blog with some beautiful quotes about illumination. Enjoy.
“The black moment is the moment when the real message of transformation is going to come. At the darkest moment comes the light.” ~ Joseph Campbell
I love this dark cold time of year. I’m a mother bear at heart and this time of year I get to cozy up in my cave with my fire going, read, reflect, rest and go within. It’s such an important part of life and yet in our crazy busy modern lives I think we often forget how important it is to sit and to just BE with ourselves. I hear so many people complaining about the cold weather in the Pacific North West, but to me, this time of year is so sacred, my own personal sanctuary, that I can’t help but be grateful for the darkness and the cold.

“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.” ~ Hamilton Wright Mabi
I also find myself feeling a great deal of hope; hope for the new year, hope for the light coming back and releasing us from the darkness eventually, hope for mankind. Something about this time of year, maybe the reflection, maybe the snow, the happy faces I see and the love, who knows, but it helps me feel more hopeful for our human existence.
“We all walk in the dark and each of us must learn to turn on his or her own light.” ~ Earl Nightingale
I pray you can find your sanctuary at this time of year and find some time to reflect on the journeys and experiences you’ve had in 2013 before the light comes back and we all get busy playing outside in the sun.
Love and Light to all my readers,
Josslyn
“There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” ~ Edith Wharton
“When you possess light within, you see it externally.” ~ Anaïs Nin
“It snowed and snowed, the whole world over, Snow swept the world from end to end. A candle burned on the table; A candle burned.” ~ Boris Pasternak
